Great tutorial but 6 years and we still have to manually add fonts by editing xml files. Utterly ridiculous how we still can't import a ttf font more easily. I don't see how this would be difficult to program either for the devs.

Hi blue I'm going back to kodi. Three years ago I used this technique a lot. Is it me or with kodi 20 it no longer works? On the other hand testing hello world still works.

You missed out a bunch of stuff. You only show how to access calibre on your lan! Try using 192.168.1.136:8080 when you're away from home. I don't think it'll work too well!!!
@JaceLansing3 жыл бұрын
For those looking to do this. You need to set up port forwarding in your router. I set the listening port to 8083 instead of 8080 to avoid conflicts with other apps. I then set my router's port forwarding to point to the IP address of the computer that is hosting the server. In the example of her video, that would be 192.168.1.136.I told it to point for both UDP and TCP because I'm assuming this app uses both. Now you just need to make sure that you're pointing to your public IP address. The tricky part about this is that the public IP for your location can be changed by your ISP and they won't notify you. Go to a site like noip.com and make a free account. Make a domain like mycalibre.hopto.org (Or whatever you want to name it). Run the no-ip client on the computer that is running your Calibre server and sign into your no-ip account. Tell it to load when you start Windows. Make sure that you click the "Edit hosts" option in the app and check the mark next to the domain you are using. This application checks for your public IP and updates the domain that you picked on the site. So we have the following: #1 Calibre has a server running and is told to listen on port 8083 #2 your router is doing a port forward for 8083 to the IP address of the computer hosting the server #3 you have no-ip running and updating your domain with your current public IP address. GREAT! Now just go to your tablet and point your application to mycalibre.hopto.org (Replace this with whatever you actually set as your host/domain name) and port 8083. It should connect to your server and you should see all your books! :D This is a lot easier than it sounds. lol But I wanted to spell everything out. Let me know if you have any questions.

Over two or three years I have tried to emulate this process probable 50 times. . the Email method always says failed to send and the Server won't work either. I really wish I could use these functions. It seams that the ports are vital to have correct with your email program, .permissions and access your firewall and a hundred other settings. . all the info on the net seems everyone else has the same problem. it just doesn't work.
