A great idea just in time. I need a lathe stand and my old lath is about the same length. Only thing I'll do different is to make my top into a flip table. Then put my 12" disk sander and 18" belt sander on the other side for counter weights. Really like your leg design and it just so happens I have 3 yellow cedar 4"X4"X6''s and two and a half dry 2X4" studs in my workshop!...🤠 I'll get three of the dusty messy tools in one corner.
@wholecirclehomestead252911 ай бұрын
That is a great idea! Have fun building it.
@andydepaule329611 ай бұрын
Started by planning the rough Cedar 4X4's already. Now a coffee break and then I'll do the same to the 2X4's. Will use 1X10's for the stringers because they will be closer to the bottom to allow the top to rotate and will need to stabilize the whole deal. I made a top a few months back for my Planner and Drum Sander because I never use them at the same time. May well use this leg design for that too. Thanks for the great idea.@@wholecirclehomestead2529

1 gallon water. 2ish cups of berries. 1 packet of yeast.

A good rule of thumb I stick to is 1 cup sugar or honey, maple syrup or other sugar source equivalent per half gallon although getting a gravity reading is the best way to get your measurements

I like the stand very much. I do have a question though, I have the same lathe, the head stock pivots to be able to turn larger bowls and platters. Have you done this and if so how is the stability for turning?
@wholecirclehomestead25293 жыл бұрын
Yes, it works well. The base is heavy so is very stable once on the ground. I also put the headstock over the leg to help with the weight and is still able to swivel for larger items.

Can you still eat it even if it does not age for 3-6 months? Is aging just to make it "sharper"?
@wholecirclehomestead25293 жыл бұрын
We aged this cheese for longer just as insurance since the milk was not pasteurized. If your using pasteurized milk and chemicals you should be fine with shorter aging time.

Thank you. I've been pondering how to make a simple stand for my lathe. It was on my small work bench but I want to be able to use that for other stuff. It's been on the floor for about 6 months. I have the materials to make a stand the same as you just did. I know what I'll do tomorrow :)

The lathe stand is made. I just have to make the tool drawer that will hang from under the lathe and cut up scrap ply or MDF for a small shelf to store my turning timber. I had a quick go on it. Nice to be wood turning again. It’s my favourite type of woodwork

Box joint jig. Make the spacer the same size you want the joint as and offset it by that amount. My 2 cents do bigger joints than I did; it will save a lot of time and cutting.

May I ask why we need to remove the mulberry from the wine? Can't we just kept it inside? The other question is that can we put it longer in the container with the mulberry ?
@wholecirclehomestead25295 жыл бұрын
We removed the mulberry and yeast and other pulp during bottling. You do not need to we just did so you wouldn't drink the pulp. Absolutely can leave it longer; most wines get better with age.
@lupusadsurgit55974 жыл бұрын
I usually remove the berries because they can be a pain when transferring the mead, blocking the siphon, the hose or even the spigot.

Gee, It would have been so nice to see you close up using the planter than far away showing both styles in operation.I take it, you jab the hoe blade down into the ground, pull forward say 8in, run a tater down the tube, pick up the hoe and place it in front of the dirt origionally pushed forward, and now push it back, over the tater.
@wholecirclehomestead25296 жыл бұрын
We just put the spade in the ground and pull it along dropping tatters down the tube. The chain dragging behind it moves the dirt back over the tatter.
