Let's put it together, Bobby finally won the championship in 1983, he had recently got credited with 85 wins after his win at Bowman Gray Stadium was finally counted after being denied credit for it in 1971, and a popular figure during his time. And now he can be reunited with Judy and his two sons, Davey and Clifford. Even after all this time when he passed, I kept his Miller High Life car as my wallpaper to honor him. Bobby Allison will always be a champion and the leader of The Alabama Gang. Rest in Peace, Bobby.

Maybe I’m crazy but at the very beginning of this video great video by the way, thank you for posting it but at the very beginning of the video I thought I heard my dad‘s voice so I played it back and then I heard my voice and then I played it back again and I think it was my mom and I listen to it several times I’m probably just crazy but nobody says this phrase that my dad says like anybody else and I hear him say no kiddiin. I know this was posted along time ago, but I’d love to know if you were standing with us at the very beginning of the video. Thanks. I miss Carnegie to so much those were the good old days. I love your video. Thanks, Robin Mears.

That season of 1967 there was a pennant race with the White Sox, Red Sox, Tigers, and Twins. It was the Red Sox who captured the American League pennant.

I was a Pearson fan for many years and that Purolator Mercury 21 was a work of art. He was a humble soft spoken man and one of the all time greats.

The Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway is about the love of a sport and family of winners and losers that had fun for over a hundred years. Never let this die because this track can entertain millions more. It use to hold the state record for the largest crowd at a sports event. No matter what we race in the future this track would be good for it.

I remember that horror of 1971 my first year of school. Was dang near a riot the first day. My parents put me in private school after that thank God. That's when private schools popped up everywhere in Nashville for the White kids. I graduated in 83 the year of this broadcast.

I can't believe that ESPN would've even put the money into sending out a crew to film a midget race....This is the infancy of ESPN and cable TV for that matter. ....ESPN took a HUGE risk when it started the whole thing that's why I can't believe they spent the money to send out a whole crew to Terre Haute Indiana for a midget race when in 1980 ESPN and cable networks were mostly bleeding cash !.....It obviously paid off in the end look at ESPN now....Actually it sucks now but hey I like the good ol days !....

Seeing this looking at the background is like going home. I lived 1/4 mile from the silver fox .I talked to him on several occasions at his property. He was a good friend of a uncle of mine also a older guy I worked with was also a friend of both of them. I asked Mr. Pearson about them he told me to tell them to look him up and give him a call so they could catch up with each other. He was a class act and a great man. R.I.P. SILVER FOX

I’ve come to really love Buddy Baker after re-engaging with “Winston Cup” or Grand National racing the past year, given how many races are available here on YT. The drivers in these golden years were all such characters and each seemed to have hundreds of stories about stock car drivers and races. Waltrip always had something to say, but even guys who were a little more reserved, like Baker or Pearson, were so funny and so charismatic.
