Try DMEV fans mate. Cost about a Pound a year to run and £340-400 quid to install. They shift 8l of air per minute and will created much better airflow in the garage. Used them on some of my houses for condensation
@Dagowly838 сағат бұрын
Not sure if yours is the same Keith, but on my dehumidifier i can plumb it into the garage drain. It's on 24/7 and, me being me, I'd forget to drain the tank otherwise! Maybe worth considering!

Hi Keith, I've the same problem with the dehumidifier & it freezing. Had to turn mine off the other day as it froze. I'd like to know more on the dinitrol stuff you're going to use & where you use it. Also the dynax & where you're using that. I've found them on amazon but the dinitrol looks different to yours, so maybe I'm looking at the wrong product. I know your doing a video on this so I'll wait & see. I've never wax oiled a mini before so your video will be a how to for me 😊.

Where's Recreative (sorry) signs 🤣 Happy new year everyone. You need to get a Diesel heater. Put in in a box round the side/back of the garage and drill a hole through the garage wall and put the hot air duct through it. I've got a 8kw version and keeps my man cave toastie with all the condensation gone when up vto temperature!

Happy New Year to you, Mark and your families. Just wanted to say thank you for all your videos. Ive thoroughly enjoyed each and every one of them. I appreciate the amount of time and effort you spend to do what you do. Im hopeful of having my first mini in almost 20 years, just as soon as I can clear out my daughter's horse rugs etc from my ( my wife says "our") garage. That horse has a bigger wardrobe than the rest of us combined!!! Can't wait to see what the year brings.

I need some help with my fuel gauge. When filled up the gauge reeds full, but after 60 miles or so the gauge slowly drops. And after 100 miles or so the gauge reeds empty, while there is about 2/3 of a tank left. All other gauges work fine. I already replaced the sender unit by a new one but the problem persist. Can someone please help me with this. Thanks in advance.

That foam above the instrument binnacle isn't just visual as it also helps to deal with one of the buzzing noises that assembly tends to create. The original Rover part was made of a very dense foam with a smooth face so that there were no bubbles visible. I still need to find a better solution for mine so if you come across a really good material please let us know. Happy New Year!

Hi Keith, love watching the videos. Now with the the resto coming to an end, I'd love to see you to a series of How To's... With me not being very mechanically knowledgable, you give me the inspiration to do things myself, I would love to see you do a series of how to videos from basic servicing to some slightly more advanced jobs. You could become a real source and go to for us less skilled Mini fanatics to work on our own cars 🤞, you could build up a real catalogue of guidance tutorials!

Definitely worth tinkering on our Mini’s this time of year whilst the weather isn’t as enjoyable to be out in them. Although it turned out to be just be a fuse it was good to see the process in diagnosing what factors could be involved. Saved ripping the binnacle out in haste. Wishing you, Mark and your families a Happy New Year.

Would I need to drop the tank for the left rear shock or could I shimmy via the rear light opening? Have a great evening further, hope the Christmas was great and hope new years is fantastic
@classicminiworkshop6 күн бұрын
You could probably just about get away with removing the tank clamp and pulling it to the side a few inches, you may then be able to remove the light and get to the top shock mount, although it's a bit of a faff. Just be careful the rubber hose at the bottom of the tank doesn't split when you move the tank around

Hi Keith. My first time getting an early Christmas present for my Mini, it was needed tho. New stuff includes new rubber hoses all 4, new slaves all 4 corners, new shoes, drums, springs, new hardlines for the front slaves too. Then got the new MC and pipes, new Paddy shortshifter because my original is bloody knackerd, more difficult finding first from a dead start than that bloody spot women keep ranting about. Also got new 3 point seatbelts, new indicator stalk because my dim to brights does not work and the left indicator does not stay on, if it does it's dear life. Also got 4 new bilsteins for the corners and new outer tie rods. Got a second hand spindle/knuckle/upright hub.

I did this job today on my SPI car. In my case were the flare nuts much more stuck than on your car. I didn't dare using regular open spanners, but used a flare nut spanner. Had to put an extension on the spanner before the flare nut cracked loose. So much corrosion on the outside surfaces, but not inside the union or its thread. Also the U-shaped hard line, connected to the output of the fuel filter, has quite some surface rust. I wonder whether the fuel filter is made using a different material than the bracket and the other metal parts, thus causing excessive corrosion. Or it could be that the previous owner(s) of my car never bothered to replace the fuel filter. Would it help to put some plastic foil between the fuel filter and the bracket, to reduce corrosion?
@classicminiworkshop8 күн бұрын
If the fuel filter is replaced regularly it should never corrode that badly. I think the problem with Minis is that they don't do many miles so the fuel filters stay on the cars for years. I would say it's definitely worth applying some corrosion wax like Dynax SW50 over the pipes and unions.

Hi Keith, Seems reasonable to me and I don't see how you could have done it properly for much less. When I restored my 92 Cooper SPi with a new shell it cost just over £16k and I didn't do anything to the engine/gearbox except for a clean and paint. You have probably saved a fortune by doing the panel work and paint yourself.
