Or just never take that approach unless or until an offer actually HAS come through at which you can approach existing employer for a match or ante up. This barring the fact that you won’t take that other offer if the employer says no to your request to match.
@IanDouglas3 ай бұрын
Another danger of lying about having an offer is that a company will just say "okay good luck with them" and stop further interviews with you

One of the great myths and misconceptions is that executives are always highly busy and unavailable because they are just so important. Corporate executive positions are some of the most undemanding, cushy jobs in the world. I can’t think of anyone with more free time on their hands than corporate executives.

My late husband was always late, so I am always early now. If really early, I sit in my car parked a little away and go in ten minutes early. I did get hired recently with an agency only four drive minutes away. And can walk there in less than 30 minutes. Great advice, thanks. PS remember to move your mouse for video interviews.😊

An Engineer with excellent interpersonal skills - for within the company and with clients will help a lot. Look into the books "How to Win Friends and Influence People" by Dale Carnegie and "Emotional Intelligence 2.0" by Daniel Goleman

Depending on your job specialty and industry, I suggest you look into any certifications you can get NOW. Update skills, and receive certificates to add to your resume and talking points. It helps to show that you are active, up-to-date, and eager to do great work. Hope that helps!

One of my friend told me to not package Knowledge as experience or skills as knowledge is different from these two it is not practical ! So how to highlight my knowledge of Hvac engineering in interviews in the best way possible so it can be beneficial for us both ? What factors impacts the most in terms of our Likeability in the recruiters eyes ?
@mohibquadri405310 ай бұрын
Sir i am a Hvac design engineers fresher, 1 confusion which i have was - while answering about my big career gap of 4 yrs due to family reasons in my field of AEC construction as engineer what should i say to not sound unprofessional in any way ? The hard skills which i learnt in 2019 internship period along with software's skills are still relevant but if the hiring manager asked what more have you learnt then what is the best answer ? Can i say i have watched many useful lectures on KZbin & attended webinars along with reading articles & books about my field, various sales, psychology books also..

Nice video! What are you thoughts on suggesting a lower seniority role during an interview before the company might? I've applied and director of the department wants to initiate the interview process because he saw value in what I can bring to the CSM team. It's for a Senior position, and while I CAN do the job (all transferable skills, industry knowledge, etc.) I have not been in that role specifically before. I know a lot of internal hires occur and outside candidates are declined, so ideally I'd like to maximize my chances. I can see how framing it well is important so as not to come across desperate. Thanks!
@jobinterviewexperience10 ай бұрын
Good question. Instead of an applicant saying, "I'll willing to take a lower role to get the job", here's a better response: "I've never focused on job titles or seniority. My focus is helping your company (insert what you can do here) in any way I can." You can leave the rest up for interpretation for them. I've heard top leaders in the industry say this. It's not about the title, it's about helping the company. It's humble and proactive. What do you think? I hope this helps!

I had a phone interview this morning. Hours later I got an invite for a second in-person interview! I made sure to save questions till the end. I think it was a combination of my questions, how I explained my skills and the thank you note that helped me. I mentioned something she said in the note. I made sure to take notes, with a pen. She doesn't need to hear the clicking of the keyboard.

@victoriahsieh389611 ай бұрын
I agree with Bonnie. When you can read facial expressions and body language, you at least know with a high degree of certainty if the interviewer is interested in what you have to say. Over the phone, you hope that the expression in their voice is real and not faked. It can be hard to tell sometimes, especially if you really want the role and you want to convince yourself you did well. But they're the judge who decides if you can proceed to round 2.
