Yakuza 7 substory "Forget Me Not" would've been a better fit for this entry instead of Yakuza 0 one simply because of how it all ends and how it all plays on Ichiban, understanding his character further and while it makes a lot of people confused in the end, it makes a lot more sense when you remember that ghosts, zombies, aliens and Kappas are an actual thing in this series.

Bethesda really does make some wild sidequests. A favourite of mine that'd have fit this video will always be A Night To Remember from Skyrim. It all starts with a simple drinking contest

padded skill trees are a plague on games. Studios boast expansive skill trees and end up with a few tangible ones and some bs like "2% chance to receive a 0.5% fire buff ever 200 minutes"

.......Fallout New Vegas was developed by Obsidian. Not Bethesda. That's literally the one thing it has going for it. Blaming Bethesda for not patching the "In Shining Armor" perk is literally showing your ignorance on games and your ability to even do a slight bit of research. How are you gonna make videos on games you don't even know the basics of?

What's funny about the crash bandicoot segment is that when you were doing the preface of superpowers in the series you completely glossed over the big useless superpower ina Crash 3 - the super body slam. It allows you to break reinforced crates, which only appear in levels after you get it

The last ability you can learn in Pikmin 4 is "Extra Hand" which let's the playable captain be able to carry stuff like a Pikmin, but here's the problem: your carrying weight is 1 (the same as an individual Pikmin) and the sidequest you have to partake unlock it is only available *after* beating the story mode, said sidequest involces having to go back to previous caves again, caves that you probably already 100% completed. But I cut it some slack because is kinda meant to be a joke ability.

Not a side quest, but Gravity Rush has a simple fetch quest type thing that turns into a multi-year journey to the very edge of the world and the hub town has had its political situation change drastically since you've been gone, with NPCs who were in high school now getting married.

(Warning: very disorganized ramble) Nier Automata has some amazing sidequests like this. You'll help people with problems that seem much smaller in comparison to the main plot, but really flesh out the world because of it--the main protagonists have their own more personal struggles and stakes, after all, and then you have so many people with their own "little" tragedies with varying amounts of relevance to the circumstances. I started doing side quests less for their rewards and more to hear these stories. Some examples: - A central plot point is a war between androids and machines. An android asks for your help in finding her missing friend. You find his corpse and an enraged, blood-splattered machine. A record you get from defeating the machine reveals he was on a rampage because of his friends being killed by androids. Go back to the android and tell her, leave, come back, she's gone. Another android says he saw her leave with a weapon. She left some some stuff behind for you, saying she didn't need it anymore. So yeah, she goes on a suicide mission and the cycle of revenge continues. - I believe this was the first side quest I did, or at least one of the first, and it really set the tone for the rest of the game: an android named 16D, a fellow member of YoRHa (the group protags 2B and 9S are part of) asks you to find the body and belongings of her friend and mentor 11B, who dies in the opening of the game. You discover from her records that she was a deserter. Keep this to yourself, and 16D reveals she was in a relationship with 11B and plans to get revenge for her. Tell her (like I did) and she'll also reveal they were in a relationship... except she'll break down laughing and reveal 11B was abusive. There's nothing you can do to turn her away from the path in the lying option or calm her down after telling her the truth. - There's a character named Emil. I looked him up while playing the game for the first time, only to find out he appears in the first Nier game. (I played Automata first). There's two sidequests involving him, so I decided to leave those until I had played Replicant ver 1.22. Without spoiling details for both games... hoollly fucking shit, it gets wild and emotional. After playing Replicant and coming back to the sidequests, I fucking cried. One of my favorite characters in video games. Automata CAN be played without playing through Replicant first, but it really is better if you play Replicant before Automata. There aren't as many side quests like this in Replicant, unfortunately, at least from what I completed (doing side quests in Replicant is more of a hassle, since there's no chapter select feature like Automata and therefore some are missable). Still some good ones though, and there's one with a tiny detail that's incredible foreshadowing for ending E. Whether or not Re[in]carnation had what could be called side quests is debatable, I think, but maybe it doesn't really matter since it was live service and you can't fucking play it anymore lmfao (even with all its issues I will defend Reincarnation to the death). I do hope Nier 4 has sidequests like Automata's. I want the game to make me even care about random one-off characters again.

FALLOUT 4 how to glitch the main story I used a random vertibird to get the mass fusion executive suite as a fast travel location and thats how I skipped the institute choice against the brotherhood so I`m still allied with both and I finished the mass fusion quest which made it impossible to do one brotherhood quest because I was missing an item. I reloaded a save where I already had that item and didn´t gave it to the institute now when doing the equivalent brotherhood quest I still have the item they wan´t but I´m looked on the task to jump out of the vertibird onto the mass fusion roof. I´m not allied to the institute anymore and I can´t finish the BOS quest which makes it impossible to advance any further in the main story. Sponsered by Agarillobob

The Shadow Kill ability in the first Dishonored game comes to mind. In theory, it's supposed to help you by disintegrating the bodies of anyone you killed if they weren't aware of your presence (at least when unupgraded). In practice, it's just a waste of runes since a) if you're going lethal, you're usually not gonna care about whether the body is found or not (unless you're roleplaying in a specific way), and b) the only use it has in a non-lethal run is making sure you don't accidentally kill someone you knocked out...which you can already do since looking at a body tells you if they're unconscious or dead and you'll likely stuff bodies in safe location after knocking them out anyways. Dishonored 2 at least gave Shadow Kill an upgrade that made it useful in a specific lethal build, but it's still largely useless (and potentially detrimental if fully upgraded) outside of that build.
