Thank you. I noticed early on in my journey that if I waited too long between retwists my locs would thin. I have thick hair in density, but really fine strands. You really can’t do what might work for others. You have to know your own head.

Amen!!! I learned to interloc my hair after 6 months starter locs since my retwists are more often due to fine hairs. Also been incorporating rice water protein and rosemary oil

I'm 5 years loc journey and beginning of my journey Month of June Summer 2019 I start get my locs wash, shampoo and styled once a month from my hair stylist who at the time wear her locs 10 years to present. Years 2020 to 2022 my haur appointments were every 2 months from 6 to 8 weeks. Year 2023 I try 3 months to get my haiir styled but I learn that 3 months was way long for fresh retwist and style. During my loc journey I had some thinning and breakage of 2 or 3 locs. I had my locs epaired at least3 or 4 times. Lesson learned. Thankfully my hair is healthy and I do my very best taking care of locs. The best decision I've made and continue to enjoy the journey. Beginning of this year 2024 months January to September I went back to every 6 to 8 weeks for hair appointments. Last week my dearest friend, stylist noticed to prevent any breakage its best for my hair appointments to be scheduled every 4 weeks. I have naturally fine, thin hair.

I’m 7yrs loc’d and I went about 3mnths without a retwist. BIG MISTAKE!! When I did get a retwist a loc broke off 😩. Luckily my stylist was able to crochet it back in…LESSON LEARNED
