I remember - one of the veeeeery first pieces I EVER played (like 6 years old) was a piece called "The Old Castle". A simple piece from the Polish piano-book for very small kids which my piano teacher was using. That was "The Old Castle" for beginners. But here, here is "The Old Castle" for big boys... :) And by the way - the music scores - copies of "Pictures at an Exhibition" from my Prague cons. piano teacher, this is a real treasure. It is filled with remarks / fingerings / advices... Either from his father (František Maxián Sr.) or from his teacher (Valentina Kameníková). I don't know, don't remember but I can say the only thing: There is EVERYTHING about playing piano, just every-single-thing. Now, after 20 years, I understand why he forced me to copy this (his) edition with all these little "helps". That time, it took me weeks to understand / learn it. Now, I read it and I feel like it's a part of me. All what is written there, today I take as an "automated" thing for me. That's quite amazing...

This video is like 10+ years old and the piano wasn't mine. It was a garden house of one elderly couple where I could practice piano a few times in a week. Who knows if they are still alive and who knows what happened to the piano.

Yes... Lots of nice songs he has. I am happy that I "convinced" my singers to "switch" for a while from their preferred repertoire (Italian opera). Nothing against Verdi... but Schumann's piano accompaniments, I enjoy, let's say politically speaking, liiiiiiittle bit more. :)

Open window... shouting birds all the time. On the other side of the house (to the street), there is a huge park with shouting kids all the day. That window(s) I keep closed. But in my old room (to the backyard), I only have birds. Sometimes bunch of cats, arguing something about whose territory it is... For the very center center of the center of The Hague, not bad.

I would like to have a "pro" setup - some microphones, camera(s) - all ready to 1 click-start-recording at any time. I can select hardware, make a wish-list and you can send me the money to buy it... Seriously: well.., yes, money is an issue - for a couple months already, I have all the floor in the house for myself. We used to share it with one girl (one of the reasons why practicing at home was not an option in the past). She found a girlfriend and moved away so now, I got plenty of space (for Dutch "standard") but also the rent is double. Means: I cannot have everything I wanted because there are more important things to pay... As I write somewhere in the comment... sooner or later, for sure I will record this with a better hardware. For now, my "home-made" videos must do with my mobile phone. I know it's not perfect but on the other hand, maybe we are little bit spoiled today... 30 years ago, this quality for "home records" would be "alien". :) Thanks for your comment anyway!

Let me help you do it cheap. Less than 300 US dollars. Get a 2 channel Focusrite. Get a pair of Audiotechnica mics on sale. Another 20 bucks of special wires... The focusrite with your powered mics... could get input in to your cam through the mic jack. Your vid would record with far superior sound. Happy to help... I could help you post process if it you wanted to try it. But the improvement and stereo powered mics up close to the piano ... night and day. I can send examples somewhere. My channel has only 2 vids of me playing piano. One with my powered mics and one without... see if you can tell.

@@mavaction Usually, I don't go for "cheap options". Focusrite I don't need as I have RME Fireface 400 (old FireWire version, still working flawles already 20 years). And I have some sound engineers / stage sound guys / friends around. No worries about that. ... at some point, I will manage to make some better home setup. For now, priorities are little bit somewhere else.

Better sound is always juicy. Philosophically... the best musicians today will not profit to their "true" worth, whatever that might mean. I'm stunned on reddit piano... you and a few others. I've seen some the best musicality on that sub. You and a few others. Make the best music just to do it.

Organ version is not the real original. Original by Franck is for Harmonium and Piano (I write it in the description). Organ version is already transcription. And this is transcription of transcription. :) Me - I honestly prefer piano version over organ. But I think the real original - harmonium and piano, that must be the MOST beautiful. Thanks for the comment anyway and greetings to Japan. (Performance is not any great... will be better. I just learned it. Here is just as I "practiced" the piece today...)

So, it has become generally considered as a pipe-organ piece. Who knows today what Harmonium is and where you can find working Harmonium? --- Maybe in music-instruments museums?

I have no idea about new algorithm systems. This alchemy of feeds / recommendations etc., not my cup of tea. I realised certain difference between long and "shorts" videos which mostly have only 1 day "life-time" but youtube feeds those shorts in people's mobile phones for certain limited period. With long videos, the system is different. Frankly, I don't care about algorithms. I care about music. And if people find their way to my profile (those who appreciate it), than we are both happy! :)
