Crank windows, no power locks, nothing. It’s a figurative statement. A general statement. Don’t get caught up on the details, my friend!

I am working on a 2018 navigator that keeps burning the led module for one headlamp then eventually the other side goes away too. How could I trouble shoot this ? The scanner shows short to ground on lighting system. It was in an accident and I repaired it.
@TeenMechanic3 ай бұрын
That’s likely related to the accident. In that case, it’s difficult to establish a pattern. I’d say it’s likely broken or pinched along the body harness that runs underneath the fender aprons and perhaps the core support. If it’s a new headlight, it’s likely a wiring issue. That is a disconnecting things and test continuity, and testing ohms under load. See where the voltage stops at certain connectors. That’s a tough one once it’s been in an accident
@flightmedic71693 ай бұрын
@@TeenMechanic thanks so much. Many times I’ve wondered if it’s the headlight that is causing the problems and I bought it used from eBay. Seller is not even active on eBay anymore.

I know its a year old vid, I had one when I was 19 back in 1987. It cost me the princely sum of $60, the seller liked my accent, stuck a water pump in it and then toured the West coast. I lived in it for two weeks whilst I earnt the money for a motel in San Diego... ironically, renting old cars to drug runners. Finally sold it to one of our Mexican mechanics for $800 before returning home to the UK. It's funny how KZbin is full of "will it run" and "Mopar" stuff which my boss would buy and sell for peanuts but now even rust buckets are selling for thousands? I have to say, after driving Impalas, Cadillacs, Mustangs, Firebirds etc.. etc.. the only car I enjoyed driving was my mate's Datsun 260Z.

I got a 73 Oldsmobile Royale coupe 2 door, too. It got nice tires, the doors open, it leaks from the window when it rains. It has a muffler. 350 Rocket engine, The grills collapse too. I thought I broke the grill and was like the grills are supposed to fold in for safety. Head lights work but not the interior lights. I drive by candlelight at night or put a flashlight on the dash. The clock is broken. I am like what time is it? It is 1973 Oldsmobile Royale coupe time at 19:73 hrs. Then the clock changes and I set it back to 19:73 and yell at the clock for working. Brakes and suspension stop and go over speed bumps ok. I'll try to post a video about being a 48 year old woman with zero mechanical abilities fixing her 73 Oldsmobile Royale while swearing and chainsmoking menthols as she attempts to fix broken things then she asks her mechanic friends and neighbours to fix what she screwed up and they are like your car is a dream to fix. And I am like I will pay you in orange mechanic handsoap and interesting mechanic tools I find on sale at Canadian Tire and all the Bourbon you can hold and a spaghetti fancy dinner

I am very happy to see you doing so well. I very much admire your energy and industry in returning this now-rare car back into working order. Kudos to you for that! As for the engine... I'd put in something...not seized...that fits to your existing transmission. You have extremely limited funds, so a working engine will do the job for you nicely. That'll be enough to be getting on with. It doesn't need to be a hot rod engine now. It didn't have a hot rod engine was it was new, after all. Then? Drive the car as far as you like. Drive it until governments make it illegal. Please continue filling your young life with pleasant memories. So many of us old folks didn't. We did boring and responsible things. Just enjoy this process. You'll have gained experience and wisdom. Please take the best of care. Literally...watch your step on the ice. Aloha!
@TeenMechanic8 ай бұрын
Thanks a lot for the comment, Jim! The trouble is that part of the memories I'd like to have in fact irresponsible ones! Ones that involve a 428, or a 460! Haha! I do want to see this car on the road again. I love how it was portrayed in and I feel like it's time for me to have a car that even has the to go fast! I've never had a "fast" car. So I feel that while I'd drive responsibly ALL the time, it'd be nice knowing that "hey, if I want to lay down two rubber strips that are both 2 miles long, I CAN..." In any case, you're absolutely right. I don't have that kind of budget yet, although you never know what the future holds! So we'll see. Take it easy in your ice-free tropic, by the way!! There's some serious jealousy over here...

@@TeenMechanic Ah! A very well-reasoned attitude you have there. I was nowhere near as clever and eloquent as you in my day. I like your mental picture of an innocuous-looking beater...with Hell's own powerplant under the hood. As you say...just knowing you could dispatch the hounds of Hell at the tap of a toe is a very intoxicating thought. I hope you achieve some measure of satisfaction from your car soon. Canada looks so lovely. Your have the most beautiful stretches of road there to "play on." So many things to see alongside kilometer after kilometer of lightly-traveled road. Surely...a driver's paradise. I do enjoy not having to spend lots of dough on heating or air conditioning here in the islands. THat is a blessing, I'm forced to admit. The longest road trip I can take on this island...without retracing my route back...is roughly 180 kilometers. Mind you...that is a fairly tidy ride for this old man on his bicycle. Please enjoy safe travels in whatever steed you ride out there in beautiful Canada! Aloha!

LS! Blehhhh. Noo! A 351 would be perfect again in it. Maybe one of the later injected ones? Or ya know what would be interesting. Idk if you still have it but the 4.6 you had from the vicky would be an interesting resto mod in that regard.

@@KatarinasGarage Here's a little piece of info... I have not publicized this yet. BUT they make a manifold for it that's crazy expensive, so maybe... I've been legitimately considering it. If not, it's also easier than I ever would have thought to make the original PCM for that motor work in the car. So that 4.6 is becoming more and more feasible.

If this is a just-bought car, ur also very lucky that it had coolant withstanding that temp without the engine cracking and so on... for 10 years haha. If there was anything in there.
