They were pretty wide of the expressway that we used to fly directly over.
@Ernwaldo9 ай бұрын
Yeah, in the description it says they “were able to cut the corner and join” the RWY 31 Expressway Visual. They weren’t on that approach to begin with, so it wasn’t flown “standard.” Not a technical term, just meant in general.

This had to be the runway that they used the other day. I’m 7.7 miles out in the lower crown heights area of Brooklyn. I saw a plane that was practically flying right over the apartment building a good 10-15 blocks down and wondering why it was so low compared to the plane that fly so high over us taking off from LaGuardia. This had to be the runway they took off from cause that plane was much closer to the ground than it should’ve been being 7-8 miles away from me. This also might be the runway that 747s use cause there was 2-3 times I’d seen a 4 engine plane going out that was so close to me from where I was looking like the airport was closer than it appeared.

Hi…nice video! I noticed the “altitude” aural alert on both of your videos into CYUL. What is the reason for that?
@FlyingBlueSky Жыл бұрын
That's the altitude alert meaning that we are no longer holding the altitude set. It happens when you hand fly the aircraft with no AP and FD. Some aircraft is a beep sound, the Embraer is a voice alert.

in nearly 15 years of flying a 757 for United Airlines out of LGA, I made exactly ONE takeoff on Runway 22. Also, I landed on Runway 13 only 2 times in 15 years.

That wasn't as fun as it should have been. I wonder why? I think because the camera is fixed in inertial space.

Loved the video. Grew up in the flight path of 22R-4L. The strobes on the wing tips would light up my room at night as the flights were nearing touchdown. Thanks for the memories.

I think this is the ERJ-175? I don't think I heard a minimums callout...do they not do this on a clear day with a visual approach?
@Zookieb4 Жыл бұрын
No sir, if it's a visual approach no minimums are set depending how you prefer to fly
@kevindigo222 жыл бұрын
This is the outbound flight from the flight that landed on 04 in the other video - I recognize it's the same plane by the dirt on the windshield. For this takeoff, they kept rolling onto the runway without stopping for spool-up. I would have thought on a relatively short runway (~7000 ft) it might be better to come to a full stop, brake, and then spool-up before going, unless it was a smaller plane. Still cannot tell what type of aircraft this is, I didn't hear a "positive" callout before "gear up" command which makes me think this is not a Boeing. I have departed on LGA Rwy 22 many times in FSX, I didn't realize how rare this actually is until I read the comments here.

Good landing. What type of aircraft was this? When I read the video title, I first thought this would be a Dash 8. Definitely not Airbus (no retard, retard...), sounds like Boeing callouts, but with the quick turn onto the highspeed exit it makes me think it was a smaller aircraft.

Beautiful view. Smooth landing. Question, does the planes usually land on runway 22? When I flew from LGA, i remember the plane taking off on RNW 22. I usually fly from either JFK or Newark NJ
@TimiTKD2 жыл бұрын
U can go either way
@SKDYCAT2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the wind. Generally try to land and take off into the wind.
@SgfGustafsson8 ай бұрын
You must be mistaken, they never depart 22. They will switch around runways based off of wind and what EWR and JFK need. The typical combos are depart 4 and land 13/31, or depart 13/31 and land 4/22, or all traffic on 31, 13, or 4. 22 is not used for departures because there is limited room to stage aircraft for departure there and it would cause congestion along the ramps.
