They were pretty wide of the expressway that we used to fly directly over.

Yeah, in the description it says they “were able to cut the corner and join” the RWY 31 Expressway Visual. They weren’t on that approach to begin with, so it wasn’t flown “standard.” Not a technical term, just meant in general.

I think this is the ERJ-175? I don't think I heard a minimums callout...do they not do this on a clear day with a visual approach?

No sir, if it's a visual approach no minimums are set depending how you prefer to fly
