I have tested several different variants of this type of wood stove and have come to the same conclusion as you. The equation doesn't add up, you want a light and small kitchen that you can heat a cup of coffee or cook in. In a small kitchen, you can at best heat a cup of coffee, but it is difficult to maintain the fire. The wood stove I use is a circular gengas wood stove. When packed up, it takes up little volume. You have to monitor the fire but don't have to feed it very often. As it is natural gas technology, it burns without smoking. The kitchen provides high heat development even though it is small. The diameter measurement should not be less than the height measurement of the cylinder. If the cylinder is tall and narrow then you will have problems with the combustion.

NOPE. This tent is only useful if you are on foot and alone. Other than that, it simply makes no sense for all the other average users. The real deal is mostly the 3PERSONS standard or Fresh&Black MH100, and also for a very low affordable budget. But livability inside is immensely better for two persons and their equipment. The difference in weight more less around 1Kg Bulk the same, discomfort half. While transported in vehicles or divided on two backs it is insignificant for such livability and benefits... mostly the interior hight 120cm makes the difference... 1m vs 1.20m, the less condensation, the ability to cook inside while raining or forbidding outsisde, the less narrower and regular squared shape against wind. And also almost the same costs in terms of money 30€ vs 45€ (discounted) and payload. Two person Tent is a waste of money also if you are alone voyager, go straight for the 3 person you definitely won't regret a penny.

I have other naturehike tent (cycling 1) for 3 years now. Zero problems with no-brand zippers. Mesh inner is problem for colder (<10 C), windy nights - I use aditional thin, light nylon fabric clamped to the mesh from outside (one wall is enough)

Gas or Wood stove... I have both. Gas canisters can be added on expenses in comparison to wood stoves, as one just needs to collect wood and start the stove. A wood stove takes a long time to start and if you are in damp conditions, using a wood stove might not be possible. Here gas stoves perfectly. Starts instantly and is ready to use. So there are pros and cons of both. Which one to use depends on situation at hand.

Older gen tent MT 500 (orange and grey), it was meant for trekking. Didn't have this much mesh in it. If used in tropical weather, it would heat up quickly. I think this tent would provide much better ventilation. That said, i would like to see how this tent performs in cold weather i.e close to snowfall. I don't like the color of this tent, it looks like it's made of waste or recycled material. I like my hiking tents to be brightly colored. It looks so pretty in pictures that way. Lol Unfortunately, in India this tent only comes with a 2 year warranty. I recently saw ultra light tent made by company made by Cat or Kat something, that can se set up with two trekking poles. Tbh i would love to see decathlon come up with something like that. It would save weight of carrying tent poles for sure by using existing equipment. One equipment if it can be used in multiple ways, that is worth getting.

Very informative. The best part for me was the last part, watching the horses running wild. Are there any similar mountain places in the dolomites as easy to walk as this one but not too much touristic?

for its price this tent is superbe, you can split the weight, leave the rain sheet and some of the pegs to bring down the weight to 1.4 kilo. you can use a decathlon hamock during daytimes for shadow or night for discretion, 500 grams + only instead of 1kg for the rain sheet , and you have no problems finding the insects

Good overview, guys. The tent look like it would be good for ventilation, what with that hidden inner flap, which is what's needed in humid climates. Personally, I'd have preferred an earth-toned fly than the non-descript grey for stealth camping purposes, however that could be achieved via camo netting. That weight is also disappointing, but if there were two of you someone could take the tent whilst the other carry other items in compensation. I may have to consider this going forward, so thanks for bringing it to my attention. Cheers! 🍻

This sleeping bag is quite good for the summer. Weight and size are a plus. Interesting idea with the two zippers. I wish more KZbinrs promoted synthetic summer sleeping bags. They cost little, are good in weight and volume. Many people who enter the world of hiking immediately buy a 3-season sleeping bag. They will only go there in the summer and they will have to carry a 1.5 kg sleeping bag which will take up a half-backpack and which will be too warm anyway. You mention stinking down. A lot depends on the manufacturer and quality. What quality down did he buy and how did he clean it before production.

I have used it recently in Malaysia tropical forest higher than 15 degrees Celsius, however I was still freezing cold and need the use of an emergency blanket 😮 Apart of the above, this is a compact and comfortable sleeping bag easy to carry for hiking.

3:15 - you do it wrong (there is precise instruction shown 10s earlier in the movie): dont stick your mouth to the inflation bag but keep them ca. 20 cm away and blow inside oneor two times (phisic done the rest) then rapidly close the inlet. At the end push traped air into the mat.

People who feel cold easily, they will feel cold easily in this bag ecen at 20C. Bag must be used with proper sleep mat or it will feel much colder. Third, dont over compress the bag at time of storage or else, it will loss its loaft.

i happened to have this setup and i can confirm it works well. the tent is so good and so cheap. it takes some space but that is it. the sleeping matress tend to loose air sometimes but ok its still working. the sleeping bag is little but tends to be cold so make sure you don't use it in the alps or stuff like that, even in summer... i think this is the killer startink kit, just buy it all, save so much money, don't worry whats gone break or not and buy better stuff if you think it is not enough or if you want to upgrade...
