It’s been 2 years, I hope your care has now improved as that setup was so small and horrid, no sprays and dangerous toys . Not to mention telling people not to use dusty bedding but you proceed to use it despite respiratory risks
@rachelstrick55562 ай бұрын
the absolute bare minimum for hamsters is 450 square inches-this enclosure is just below 700 square inches. please explain how this one is too small, and which toys are dangerous? are you also saying sprays are dangerous for hamsters? they are completely safe and incredibly beneficial for natural foraging. as i stated in the video, i do not recommend that bedding because it was a bit too dusty for my liking. that is not to imply that the bedding is downright dangerous-i would simply encourage someone to purchase a less-dusty bedding to be on the safer side. i am perfectly aware of potential respiratory issues. i’m all for constructive criticism, but nothing you mentioned about this enclosure is even remotely “horrid.”

I love these videos, he is so adorable! A few things to keep in mind are: Syrian hamsters are huge compared to dwarfs (As you know) this cute enclosure is awesome for a dwarf but sadly not big enough for a Syrian. The minimum for a Syrian enclosure is at least but not limited to a 40x20x20 (I have 2 48x20x20 for both my female Syrians) They need at least 10+ inches of bedding but is recommended to be up to 15+ inches. You also should press down the bedding aka packing it down so that it holds burrows WAY stronger. Setting ceramic or glass hideouts on bedding is very dangerous as they can dig under them and it will seriously harm them, platforms are recommended. Idk what wheel size you have but the smallest wheel a Syrian can have without bending their back is 10 inches but 11-12+ inches are better. I hope this doesn't come across as mean or rude, and I hope I am not too late! He is truly an adorable little thing.

Somehow since the day I got my dwarf hamster, she will rarely stuff food in her cheeks. She will eat her food by getting inside her plate or take it in her wheel and she might take like 1% of it back in her hideout home but she will eat most of it right there in the open, I haven't seen her actually stuffing her cheeks. I think it depends on the hamster and I'm guessing it also depends on how soon they get comfortable in their new home. I mean Syrians do it all the time but dwarves aren't always ''stuffers'' that much

Robos are by far my favorite type, despite how difficult they can be in the taming process. I mean all dwarves are kinda challenging on this but robos might take even more time. But I don't care. I want my next hamster to be a robo.

My hamster escaped 5 days ago😭i was so sad also the wether is cold now and i didnt want her to freeze or die from hunger. I looked everywhere multi times a day. Then little miss decided to show up in the bathroom after 5 days, she made a hole in the wall. I looked there too but only saw rocks probably there was a place where she squished in😅anyway i was so happy shes back. I gave her food, water, she bathed, run in her wheel and fullen her cheecks ready to go back to her journey😅oh yeah she has a bold spot on her neck i think she pushed herself to ger out🥺

I got a robo for my first hamster, I know it’s not recommended for a robo to be a beginner but if I can ace a math test I didn’t know then I can tame her. I gotta say, my care isn’t the best because my parents had a limit for the money I could spend so my cage is really boring, but I will be adding more stuff as soon as I can!

I recommend plastikote on Amazon in the clear color. It basically seals wood so if your hamster pees on it it won’t absorb.

Hey I have a question is you do a theme every time it is a holiday is that bad. I was wondering because Victoria Rachel says that you should only clean them out about every 6 months. But I love your videos and keep up the good work.
@rachelstrick55562 жыл бұрын
nope, i don’t do a theme for every holiday. but it’s completely fine to change themes as long as you’re keeping most of the bedding & not doing a deep clean!

Will hamsters not chew on hard plastic? Me and my daughters have been thinking about getting a couple.🥰 We have 5 Guinea pigs and 2 Bunnies. I love seeing you getting supplies BEFORE getting your pet. I wish everyone would do that 👍
@rachelstrick55562 жыл бұрын
i personally haven’t had a problem with my hamsters chewing on hard plastic, however each hamster is different. if you choose to use hard plastic, i would definitely monitor it to make sure your hamster doesn’t chew on it. i wish you and your daughter the best of luck with your new potential hamsters! 🥰 please remember to keep them separated if you decide to get two

Indd, spot cleaning👌🏻my syrian use het litter box but i know 100% if i make a tunnel she will pee there(she often change her spot😤) sadly my dwarf hamster only pees in her tunnels and where, so i need to deep clean it😭she doesnt want to pee in her sand either

Omg girllll you might not see this but like my hamster Luna escaped too! So we built a giant cage for her and kept her in the garage, it didn’t have a top(we used blankets) and the next morning she was gone! We looked everywhere and gave up hoping she will come out and she did 2 days later
