Steep hibiscus 🌺 leaves. Add simple syrup and add to the batter. It'll be super red.😊. I haven't tried that, but I brew hibiscus to drink from dried raw, organic hibiscus flowers.

Easy to make RED velvet cake, from original recipes- red without food color! The chemical reaktion from mixing buttermilk and real cocoa powder, makes it redish.... not screaming red, but red.

I'm Japanese. I guess the "red rice powder" or "Koji" 1:10 means "red yeast rice", but it has possibility to get toxic mold like citrinin. It requires very careful storage conditions.
