My guess is, this conversion will cost you $200K - $250K USD. I'd pay for that anyday than for those $250 - $300K Mercedes Sprinter Van conversions. But it all depends where you want to go or get into. To each his own 😊

Is the studio big enough to serve as a bunk room for upper and lower twin beds if desired?
@Dovietail5 ай бұрын
Safety concern: I REALLY don't like gas stovetops in walkways. Too easy to catch long hair/draped clothing on fire or burn yourself on a hot pot as you brush by, especially for older kids or 'tweens!

I do wish the windows were taller for sitting views in LR. Could you ever install stacked buss windows, or even a quad cluster, if client wanted to use the originals? I THINK that would look really neat and offer lots of ventilation options.

OMG, AT LAST! A WALK-AROUND BED!!! What is wrong with you "up against the wall" people? It's a damn bus! There is nothing but room! Don't you like making uo a bed without having to climb all over it? Don't you like being able to get out of bed without disturbing your partner? Does it take the over-40 crowd to fully appreciate proper visual bedroom proportions? 🙂🙃🫠

Very nice conversion, nicest I've seen! I'm curious, when you all do the roof raise is the added steel galvanized alloy steel or straight mild steel? Your work quality looks very high with straight lines and close tolerance fit and finish! I couldn't help but notice that from an appearance point of view most of the furnishings look to be on one side so how is the weight distribution fairing? Why no mirror over the bathroom sink?

What did you do to get the solar panels to fit on either side of the maxxair fan? We installed the FVCO roof rack today in my transit 148" and the 100 watt Renogy panels won't fit on either side as planned- the fan won't open and close. :-(
@Bryan-et6bw11 ай бұрын
You need to get an older model G2 of the 100w. They have a width of 20" and with the 16.4" width of the max air that gives you just under an inch to work with. the G3 with a width of 20.9" wont work. Rich solar also has a slim 100w option that will fit no problem, but its longer.

The owners of this gorgeous schoolie really need to be given more credit and praise for the design, layout, and work they did before handing over their bus to you to build out their plans and designs they created. They did the demo and roof raise which are both time consuming and intense hard work. That part seems to have been missed by 99% of the viewers who left comments. You and your company did an amazing job building out their plans and did such a high end job creating the different components of their home which look extremely well built and will last for many years to come. Have you ever thought about not using the traditional batteries to store the energy collected from the solar setup? I have recently seen a couple of people who live completely off grid who have installed a system that includes a solar generator and rechargeable batteries that can be recharged with the solar panels or from a landline hook up when you stay in a campground or are able to plug into a higher wattage of electrical. I have seen a couple of these portable generators that can power multiple high energy draining appliances (washer, dryer,fridge and freezer and a heating and cooling system for hours and they barely put a strain on it. Then you can also piggyback multiple additional battery banks that allow you to provide energy for even more things for longer periods of time and still not completely drain the batteries. As they are connected to the solar panels they are constantly being recharged when the panels are exposed to sunlight even on a cloudy day. Jake from the Jake and Nicole who are living completely off grid on their property on Vancouver Island in BC has been doing a lot of research and testing of this type of solar generator and battery system to use both in the house they are building and in their sailboat. They have been using a couple of the solar generators/power source for the last 4-5 years to charge their phones and other electronics and the batteries for their many different tools. They make sense because they aren't temperature sensitive, last for years, aren't a fire hazard and take up less space.
