Beginner question. If the aperture is from 3.5 to 5.6 does that mean that I should not go above 5.6 in aperture priority mode?

This might be my favorite lens review. Plus your voice is relaxing

I have this lens and I use it on my xt-1 fuji. At 50mm it comes in at a 75mm on my sensor. It is one of my favorites. Nighttime shooting looks great too, I usually sit between 2-5.6 at night depending on the situations. At those lengths I never see anything unpleasing. It has a vintage look to it and the optics are great. I've taken some great shots with it. Heavy and solid. For black and white it is outstanding. It's manual focus of course by hey so is the Leica. I learned film shooting on the lens and transferred it over to my digital camera. Grab one if you see it cheap!

It's IOS "Optical Image Stabilization". Not IBIS. After all the irrelevant tech talk it should be noted that this is a unique lens with a lot of character. Well worth the money.

On e-bay right now these are readily available fron US $300-350. The new 16-50 must have a lot of these being traded in.

I own the Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-F4 for my Nikon D5500. You can get the same lens for Canon DSLR mounts. I bought my Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-F4 from MPB for 145 UK pounds

Great review. I was wondering how the 18mm on this lens compares to the 18mm f2, can’t find any videos on that.

Thank you for making these videos, I came across them when looking for more info about the Mitakon focal reducer (FD-FX). There isn't much info out there for this specific combination, so it's really useful. I am considering getting one of the adapters as I recently inherited some FD gear that has got me into film photography, and I already had some Fuji gear. This lens has also caught my interest, although I'm not sure how I feel about its size... Btw, your English accent is very good. If I wasn't concentrating I would have guessed that you were a native speaker!

Great street photography lens. I use this lens often on my X-E2. I mostly use it as a 15-30 wide angle zoom at f5.6-11, with a bit of short telephoto close at hand for when it’s once in a while called for. Love the size, weight, & image quality at wide angle settings.

For the money, this lens is amazing. DPReview TV compared it to the Sigma 18-50mm F2.8 and it performed extremely well. I own a Japan-made copy and use it on an X-T2 and an X-T5. Highly recommended, especially for travel.

Fuji has the most internal zooms of any brand(?). These are all internal: 18-120 f/4 PZ, the new kit lens 16-50 f/2.8-4.8, 8-16mm f/2.8, the updated 10-24 f/4, and the 50-140 f/2.8. Some of them require a screw on protective filter to complete the sealed internal design. I would love a standard f/2.8 zoom with an all internal zoom to complete the f/2.8 internal trifecta.

Also the 150-600 is an internal zoom lens

A little softer? I've never heard it called that. It's one of the sharpest fuji lense I have!

One point that was very visible to me is the chromatic aberration, which only decreased significantly at f/5.6 and f/8. I am wrong? Both with the adapter with glass and without glass. The great advantage of enlarging the frame to close to 50mm with the Mitakon is really impressive. It's worth it, despite losing a little sharpness. If I can, I will buy the 2 adapters and use each one depending on the situation.
