Induction hobs are the most energy efficient, provided you have compatible pans. Baking potatoes… 10 mins in the microwave on full whack then 15 mins in the air fryer 180°C to crisp up. Saves a few quid on the bills.

Buy baking pans with lids and you won't have to worry about the foil burning off into the dish.

As a constructive comment the beans could be enriched a la Antony Worrall Thompson's method which is to put some butter, salt and pepper in the beans and reduce the sauce until it is thick but the beans remain whole. I have used his method for years and it works very well when you are using budget priced baked beans as the sauce gets much thicker and becomes very silky and rich Overall, these are interesting ingredients, but many overseas will never have been able to obtain white pudding, I am assuming. Fortunately, my local butcher does stock it, so I might give your recipe a try.
@ItsForkinDelicious12 күн бұрын
Isn't that the great thing about cooking? So many different ways to cook and lots of ideas to share. Thanks for watching and sharing your thoughts and hopefully some people give your method a try too. That's great that your local butcher stocks white pudding. Maybe we will have to make a video soon on how to make your own Irish style pudding at home.

Hi, my understanding of how to cook with aluminium is that the shiny side should be facing the food so that heat is reflected onto the food. You did the opposite so that the heat was reflected away. Why?
@ItsForkinDelicious12 күн бұрын
There is a very minimal/ if no difference at all between using the dull and shiny side in terms of heat! ☺️ Some brands may have a non-stick side though, so it’s best to double check that! Thanks for watching! 😎

Another fantastic video! I'm curious on what you think of dried pasta versus shop bought ‘fresh pasta’? The fresh pasta is more expensive but not sure if worth it. Most Italian videos I've seen are using dry pasta.
@ItsForkinDelicious26 күн бұрын
Cheers for the nice comment! Good question! Dried pasta and fresh pasta each have their own benefits, depending on what you're making. Dried pasta (the kind you'd usually spot in Italian homes and restaurants) tends to be more durable, with a firmer bite once cooked, and it’s perfect for heavier sauces. Fresh pasta, though, is softer and it’s great with lighter sauces, like a simple butter or cream one. Fresh pasta can be a bit dearer, but it’s class for certain dishes, like a creamy ravioli. That said, Italians will often go for dried pasta in everyday meals, like spaghetti or penne, because it’s handy and works a treat with pretty much anything. So really, it’s all about what you’re cooking and what you fancy! For everyday stuff, dried pasta is hard to beat and it’s more cost effective too! 😎🍝
@philiporeillycork26 күн бұрын
@ thanks for such a detailed answer and makes so much sense now. Thought I was doing better when cooking for the kids but had notice Italians having no issue with dried pasta. Will stock up and use based on the meal 👍

They look beautiful!!! I would love to try them. However, going to have to omit the onions & peppers! I'm American to them. I could season with onion powder, that would be plenty good.
@ItsForkinDeliciousАй бұрын
Thanks for watching! ☺️ You’ll definitely have to give it a go! Season with and replace items as you see fit. Onion powder should work fine, even other vegetables would be better like bean sprouts, bamboo shoots or mushrooms. Happy cooking!! 🧑🍳

What kind of knife do you use? Can you recommend a good knife?
@ItsForkinDeliciousАй бұрын
For breaking down chicken or any other butchery you need a good boning knife, 6 inch blade by Victorinox or Global. For chopping, a chefs knife 8-10inch the same as the two brands as above. ☺️

My favorite spring rolls to make at home are shrimp, with shredded cabbage and shredded carrots. I get a bit antsy when I'm running low on rice paper wrappers. I too, coat the assembled rolls with oil and bake them. Sometimes, I'll steam them, but then, they're called summer rolls. As far as rolling the wrapper around the filling, it's the same technique used to make a burrito. Looks good, sir.
