From Nam, LT, you have all of us behind you. Relax. Pretend the happy world in front of you is willing for another happy boinking. It ain't war here, it's about the joy the outdoors IS, not about worry, but certainly about ABOUT: THERE IS NOTHING THERE THAT IS OPPOSED TO YOU OTHER THAN YOURSELF. Just so, your Grace speaking to all of us honestly. If you're nervous take a stiff drink or run backwards in your underpants in the pouring rain and then sit down. Life is a hell of a lot shorter than you might even imagine and then it's only there for the enjoyment of our Grace and your good wishes. and

If you only knew what I just went through for a 3day whitetail hunt... I guess I'm not ''avid'' by yalls snobby metric and yall aren't real hunters by mine. I use what I have and when I have. Not everyone can buy a bow and go hunting all the time. Geeze, I thought you were more down to earth than that...

Groenewald is the only place I’ve ever sold my fur. I paid to ship it to them. They call me with an offer and I can accept or reject the offer. If I reject it they pay to send it back to me. Always treated me well.

I’m in South Carolina. They use dogs here. I am not for it. A lot of deer are lost . The meat is stressed. Being from the Appalachian mountains. I too am a hypocrite. I agree with bear coon, rabbit . I’m just not for deer

I am an Organic grower/farmer who co-authored the Producers' Certification Sub-committee from the Texas Department of Agriculture. Much of our work was later adopted by the USDA's certification standards for Organic Certification. I can't make a statement about the disappearance of Bob White quail around the country but I can say something about them, here. "Here is 13 acres of American Tall Grass prarie surrounded by woods and cattle that my wife and I bought 40 years ago. At that time, the property was replete with Bob White Quail. I could sit at my desk observing wild life while editing manuscripts for publication in "Organic Food and Farming" magazine, and enjoyed seeing bevvies of the Quail "foraging" the yard. One of the dominant plants we have here are "Quail Peas,." When the pea pods would shatter, they would spread their peas in the area. Over the next 10 years, I watched their ranks thin and then disappear entirely. The main culprit of their demise, in my observation, was Southern Imported Fire Ants. The quail simply could not withstand them. I raised a gaggle of White Chinese Geese and the Fire Ants killed off all of the baby geese hatched out by my mature geese, who were blinded by fire ant bites. Even when I brought the hatchling geese into the house, they would succumb to the bites they got from the ants. The quail weren't the only nesting birds to fall victim to the fire ants, any nesting birds, even up in the trees, were victims of the ants. We had multiple queen colonies of fire ants, at the time (you can read up on that phenomena) and the spawl of my stock tank used to glisten red, under the sun, from the color and number of the fire ants seeking moisture for the colonies of ants on the rest of the property. I say all of that for a reason that, as I have gotten to know my conventional farming neighbors, and as much as I would prefer that they didn't employ the amount of chemicals that they do, I don't see that they are responsible for the loss of the Bob White Quail either from their use of pesticides, agricultural inputs, or habitat destruction. Farmers and Ranchers are getting a bad rap on those accounts.

You can still legally shoot pike in VT on Lake Champlain. This year the season was March 25 to May 25. I haven't partaken myself but there are still a few folks that do.

I've grown up in western kentucky my whole life and remember when there was a good quail population in the 80's. I started rabbit hunting with my dad when I was 9 yrs old and we ran into several covie of quail but over the years it had a massive decline and now it's rare to even jump a couple birds. It's really sad this is happening and not to mention the destruction of habitat for all wild game.

When I was a kid in Bosque county in central Texas, 1960s and 1970s, I could get off the school bus, walk the 1/4 mile to our house get my 410 and later 12 gauge and walk between our house and my uncles and jump 3 coveys of quail. Now I’ve retired and moved back and haven’t seen a bobwhite in 8 years.
@l.loganboswell17612 күн бұрын
A large reason for the decline is one spread of fire ants.

All the quail are on the Pay to Play outfitters land. $1000 a day and you can shoot all the quail you want. Hunting is a rich mans game nowadays.

The state enabling legislation restricts this completely. The only people the Federal can give the land "back" to is the tribe it came from. Otherwise it has to be homesteaded.

I live in washington state. The idea of this state managing anything is terrifying. This state has already castrated all hunting and fishing. If washington was in charge of the public lands, then the public would be the last ones to be able to use it.

The issue no one talks about is about almost all federally owned ground is is the western states over 50 percent of Utah’s is federally owned 70 percent of Nevada and similar in Arizona. All of these places people cannot build or buy home’s or build water infrastructure all things that are needed and must be fixed asap Utah for over 20 years Southern Utah has been fighting to build water reservoirs and highways that state has done land transfer to try and make things work. The federal government makes promise and then backs out. The people that want to keep things as they are live in other states where it’s affordable and screw over people that actually live in these states.
