Bath 19 should be cited for dangerous play and taking a swing at Ramm even though he probably deserved it. Pearce too for blocking 😂😂

It's clear that Bath have retained their momentum from the end of last season. But I'm not sure you can draw too many comparisons between the Saints' XV from Friday and from the final. Mind you, we were pump in the final... so maybe you're right 😂

There is a game in Northampton tomorrow night (13th September), but no Northamptonshire first premiership game is away in bath on the 20th. Although bath is not hard to get to and the bath ground on a Friday night is one of the best stadium experiences of any in the world genuinely, please go if you have the chance! And the city is amazing

Is it just me, or does Sam Prendergast look like he has put on a bit of muscle? I hope to god he has, the chap needs to get bigger if he wants to progress and mix it up with the big boys.

@Kpb69 I don't mind holding him back a bit. You see 18 or 19 year olds thrown into test rugby just because they had the ability young and are broken by their late 20s like North. Id want to see Prendergast in his prime at 28 to 35 and not broken. But what's undeniable is that Prendergast has the kind of quality that makes him exempt from making the same mistakes Ross Byrne and other average pros consistently make. Passes going behind players and spooking the rest of the backline getting charged down. Only a mad man would let Byrne run the show at 10 after the disastrous showings he had in the finals and semi finals

First act of the new CEO is to listen then reset the crest. No pressure because WE are Northampton Saints
@richards-kk4fc2 ай бұрын
I understand the reasons behind a change of crest and was genuinely looking forward to a new design but blimey this was a real disappointment. A nice idea with the link back to the first badge however a really poor execution.My first thought on seeing the new badge was genuinely ‘What does a daffodil have to do with the Northampton Saints’ ? I presume a simple yellow cross cannot be registered as a trademark so some sort of extra device was needed but placing ‘1880’ in the centre just makes it look like the stamen of a flower and reinforces the daffodil image. Any half decent designer would have realised this right from the off and positioned the numbering elsewhere. Also, the green and black background is unbalanced and visually jarring. Obviously the club had the final decision on which badge to go with but I’d be surprised if the design company are wholly satisfied or will be using this image as an example of their work in any future pitches for business. Petitions won’t change the clubs mind as there’s now far too much money invested in the re-branding and possibly the only thing that will do is if there’s piles of unsold merchandise in the club shop at the end of the season. Fortunately, I have enough shirts, caps and items of clothing to last a lifetime or two so won’t ever need to be buying anything with the new badge on.

I understand the need to simplify but this is a step too far. Far too boring, doesn't scream Saints and looks like something a school pupil would do as part of a project.

It's dreadful. Rework the crest to include green black and gold and a couple of stylised Saints figures
@andrewmark16122 ай бұрын
Gonna be controversial here, but I actually quite like it. Not perfect - if anything it's too simplified - but I do prefer it to the old, overly complicated and not especially relevant crest. The modern requirements of a logo in a digital age need it to be simpler than the previous version. It has to work in every scale, on every background, in mono as well as in full colour etc. etc. I like the reasoning behind using the cross, and the greater emphasis on the black, green and gold. I get that some fans are upset because the old logo has an emotional attachment, but objectively it was terrible. Give it time, and this logo will gain the emotional attachment as well, and it's way more versatile and memorable. My only (personal) gripes are that I'm not sure it works well enough at a very large scale; the 1880 is a bit disconnected in the middle; and the cross is a bit too simplistic - an actual cross of St. James might have worked better (and been just as memorable and iconic a motif to use in the future). All in all though, I think a change was necessary and this is an improvement, albeit not a perfect one. I'm definitely at least prepared to give it time to see how it gets rolled out into full usage, and realistic enough to know that it ain't gonna change anyway, no matter what voices on the internet say, so we're gonna have to get used to it anyway... :D
