Keep on keeping on y’all. Some people that have taught me this and inspire me are of course Travis here. As well as Wes Montgomery,Bola Sete, Gabor Szabo, Carlos Santana, the list could go on and on but thought here’s a few that may inspire or help.

New Year’s Eve 2011. Sat at a table by myself hearing family all around me having fun but I was the only one at the table and my only friend was the Jack double in front of me. I shook his hand for the last time and sat down with my family who never gave up. Even let me to the party. They loved me through it all. I hope all y’all are well. Glad to say that I am. Travis you are incredible man.

This song had me on my knees brother. You are a treasure !! I found out about you from Micheals channel as well, AM I EVER THANKFUL FOR THAT!! I’ve sang and played this song countless times since then!! I’m sorry about your neck surgery and the problems you are experiencing. I too had a surgery on my neck. I had problems afterwards as well. Since then it has changed back to almost normal. Praise the Lord for your music!! Hang tough brother!

What a breath of fresh air. Weird as this music is not new but on first hearing my ears were delighted. How could I not have heard this gentleman before. Beautiful guitar parts held simple and light, deep but accessible lyrics, heartfelt melody filled with feeling and a voice borne of life's hard lessons learned and not yet learned. I will definitely go back and lesson to every song this man has out there. I feel inspired, more than I have in a long while.

Not sure if you will see this Travis, but it’s kind of ironic how I’ve disliked most modern country type sounds in music these days. Wife is leaving me and it’s probably my fault to begin with. I wasn’t looking for answers for the way I was feeling. Very bitter. Then I came across this song of yours and It broke me down. Realizing that forgiveness is the only true answer I have and to move forward from this point. Thanks

Loved hearing about Marty. Met him in Summer of 76 at a bluegrass festival in Southern Ohio when he was touring with Lester Flatt. Had a very interesting discussion about Elvis, who was gone a year later. Marty was a prodigy and has been a huge creative force in country music for 50 years. Love his work with the Superlatives (appropriately named btw) Love your music.

Sobriety is the best decision I have ever made. It is foolish for me to say "If I could go back in time" because my decisions have made the person I am and the journey I have been on. Acceptance, forgiveness, empathy, regret, anger, joy, sadness, happiness are all a part of our journey. We have seasons and we just have to remember to eat, sleep, and dress accordingly. I stopped counting at two years. I still remember the day. My goal is to not make it to another year, but to a better day. It is all about healthy daily decisions at this point. I wish everyone health, happiness and blessings.

Travis, I am a Songwriter from Texas and a Baptist preacher for 28 years. I love Sideways. I come from a Honky Tonk Daddy and a Church goin Mama. I got saved at 7, went through childhood trauma x 10 and came out the other side playing rock and country, taking psychedelics and partying until Jesus gave me an ultimatum. I surrendered and have preached the gospel for 28 years, but I’m writing songs and playing again and it’s good. I’m praying for you to get back to feeling and sounding like you. Your songs hit me where Guy’s do. Keep up the amazing work, brother.

I grew up getting ragged on junior high and high school. Turned 72 today, married 40 years to a wonderful woman who believes in me, retired and enjoying life. Used to think it would be fun to go to reunions, but just can't be bothered. Sit on our deck with my wife and dogs and just be thankful this underdog has had a good life.
