I agree that the sat nav is absolutely shocking. Did you know though you can put the screen in a better mode where you just have a rev bar vertically up the left side and more sat nav info on screen? Still not map view but clearer. It desperately needs the app sorting though, it’s so glitchy and often tells you to make the turn when you’re at the apex of the junction, it’s all over the place. I’ve still got my speed triple 1200rr but the only way I could have lost money quicker was to take £5000 in cash and set fire too it in the garden, really sad as it’s a good bike

Lovely looking bike! Have you had any problems finding neutral and is the seat comfort reasonable? I am surprised you chose the RR over the Triumph Rocket 3 GT. I thought the GT would be far more comfortable! Thanks for uploading!

Having ridden both, I agree that for street use the ergos are better on the RS. I just don't particularly like the insect-looking headlight and the mid corner feel is way better on the RR suspension. 👌

This video supports the advice to buy the best one you can rather than one needing work. I bought my 2006 Continental 11 months ago, with 21,000 miles at US$48,000 and so far, have repaired the little cover on the gear change, changed the dipstick guide sleeve plus reactivated the TPMS system, all done myself and things I should have seen at purchase and got a couple of thousand off.. Other thing is to use an Indy that is savvy on Audi or Phaeton equivalent parts, which will save a lot of money. So spending £11,000 on what are really things that needed to fixed in the first place is really to be expected on a cheap one, that is probably high mileage as well. As you say, next years maintenance is going to tell which whether it was a good deal. I love mine, it feels like a new car apart from some of the technology, which was advanced for its time but now rather dated. Good video on U-Tube on the headliner removal that should save some money too.

@EddCroucher

Naa way less, if you do it yourself basics like oil and filter will be around £50, but tyres and brake discs will be a bit more expensive of course. Ide say put a few hundred aside each year for maintenance which will allow you to have extra for tyres, brakes and the like every other year.

Can you provide your opinion on how the Emira’s handling and suspension compares to your GTR. Would be nice to hear how it differs.
@EddCroucher
@EddCroucher Жыл бұрын
The GTR has more central weight distribution but feels a bit heavier, and when slowing has a tad more understeer unless under power. Steering feels a bit more linear on the Emira, but the GTR provides much more road feedback and has a much harsher chassis and suspension setup. Overall, the GTR is much more track and speed focused, where Emira is much more of a light hearted drive. Probably a better car for daily use too. Gotta love an engine behind your head too!
