Can you travel far on a Kawasaki Ninja 125?

I managed to get to Cheddar Gorge a few days later, about 2.5 hours each way and only stopped at the Gorge for a quick break! I would not be willing to travel much further than that on it though...

Could you do a video on changing gears with this bike ? Like from starting it and then a 5 min journey and then you parking it ? Jus cause I’m getting this bike soon and a bit intimidated with gears and stuff so it would be really helpful !

Good shout, all bikes are the same, from neutral you push down once to go into first. Then up to go through 2nd-6th. Every time you wanna change you bring the clutch in, select the gear and bring the clutch back out. On a bigger bike you would need to rev match but with such a small engine its really forgiving.

@@EddCroucher ah okay, do I bring out the clutch while changing gears whilst pulling the throttle in slowly too ? Also so I park in neutral and when I get on the bike I start it, pull in the clutch and shift to first gear and then let out clutch whilst putting in throttle and then I start moving right ? Sorryyy if some of this sounds really stupid I just don’t want to do the wrong thing stupidly and fall 😂

@@MK-jp6cc There are a few good videos on how to get going on a bike online. I will probs copy one for a bit of content but just have a look at them. Think of the bike as two moving pieces of mass. The engine itself spinning, and then the bike itself moving. The clutch dictates weather those two spinning masses are connected. Pulled in, they are not, allowing you to move between gears. When the clutch is let out, it connects them. Neutral is also like not having the spinning masses connected. Thats the best way to think about it. What gear you select is the ratio connecting the two spinning masses, slower the bike is moving, the lower the gear. To get started, the bike will be in neutral indicated by a green light on the dash of almost all bikes. Then to get moving, bring the clutch in, click down into first. Then (and i cant stress this enough) VERY SLOWLY let the clutch out. Learn the "bite point" where the two masses connect, and give a tiny bit of throttle to get it rolling as you let the clutch out. One again, a TINY bit.

And whenever I get to a main road or a roundabout which I need to stop at should I shift to first gear and then stop and wait ? I just subscribed to you because u where very kind in explaining this all to me so thank you so much !!

@@MK-jp6cc So if you want to stop in 1st gear clutch will have to be pulled in, because of course the engine is still running and connected to the wheels if clutch is not pulled in. Neutral will let you let go of the clutch while engine is still running, but at a roundabout where you will be pulling away soon, keep it in first gear with clutch pulled in, ready to give it a SMALL bit of throttle and find the bite point again by letting the clutch out to pull away.
