Columbia University should be a community that feels welcoming and safe for everyone. As a Teachers College, Columbia University student, I didn't feel welcome. Teachers College, Columbia University, promotes overtly racist anti-White belief systems, such as Critical Race Theory and overtly racist concepts, such as White Privilege. That my professors, instructors and fellow TC students, embraced and promoted anti-White belief systems and concepts broke my heart. I wanted my professors, instructors and fellow TC students to like me and to care about me. Still, I thank Columbia University for facilitating free speech, peaceful protests; all in opposition to a far right Zionist Jewish supremacist run apartheid polity, committing crimes against humanity. That was the right thing to do. And I'm genuinely sorry that some of the protesters took advantage of Columbia University, said and did things Columbia University must never ever tolerate. Once again, a big thank you to Columbia University, for facilitating free speech and peaceful protests. And may everyone associated with Columbia University enjoy the very best of health, happiness and success.

When people started cosplaying Hamas you should have taken a firmer hand as the administration. Instead you sissy footed it to the point the cops needed to be called. This started with the safe rooms from trigger words. Im not saying bring back the rulers either. If a micro aggression sets you off, please talk to someone. Meantal health is important.

You, madam, are a disgrace and a liar with your fake talk. I hope you are removed from your position. You have caused severe damage to your university by the violence rained down on your intelligent, articulate students! You are truly not a great ambassador for your students, but rather for your financial backers. Shame on you, I hope this will heavily impact your future career path in a negative way!

What did the student president do to quel the start of the protest. Nothing. Sending fear into Israel students.

Here's your anemic corporate cheerleader trying to dodge all the important issues incriminating Columbia's administration and its connections with Israeli genocide with empty talk of dialogue and mutual respect about equally valid viewpoints and cultural tolerance. It's amazing how university presidents in America have really stopped having meaningful connection to truth and moral education.

Educational Spaces are for learning. These CANNOT become political hotspots which does not take time in becoming infernos, tornadoes, volcanoes.....all of that which destroys the purpose of the Educational Space, for which parents sacrifice their savings to send their children to learn in an environment which promotes discipline and not mindlessness in the name of freedom. Education is costly, and therefore it's a Business, and it is the duty of this Business, this Institution (or any Institution) to NOT allow it's Teachers and Students, respectively, to engage in activities that are not meeting the objectives of the Institution, within the premise and a radius of the Institution. Students with Teachers are free to have conversations across various topics, but the Educational Space CANNOT be allowed to be taken over by a Protest Culture and impose itself on the other Students and most importantly, the Institution itself. In such situations, for Institutions to rely upon the 'sweetness of tolerance' and for it to 'plead and urge' protestors to stop the protest, is not only playing blind, but exhibits disrespect towards the Institution. Those managing the Institution CANNOT be seen vacillating and being indecisive in taking action to bring back the order and decorum in it's working. The Institution must WANT to take the required action against miscreants and not be seen as being lenient against such acts of bullying. The Institution MUST NOT feel shy to exhibit it's authority in such situations, and not uselessly engage with such elements which are vitiating the atmosphere of an Educational Space. Whatever has happened in Columbia University and all other American universities, is a complete failure of the Institutional Authority to take decisive action in evicting these protestors from the campus. This shows that the Institutional Authorities are themselves involved or are incompetent to take action or were under pressure to not take action. All of which just shows that American Universities are in a state of mess and have lost their Educational Values by allowing themselves to be taken over by a pack of protestors. In brief, American Universities are UNSAFE which promotes bullies and bullying.

She did absolutely nothing wrong. The students took it to far so law enforcement being called in is on them. 1st amendment says you have free speech not the right to occupy and damage a building that doesn't belong to you. The cops even gave them a chance to leave the building and avoid being arrested. Bottom line All of you whining about Columbia because you're mad about what's happening in Gaza have a lot of growing up to do.

@SandyG-NZКүн бұрын
She is despicable. She has shown an absolute lack of integrity. She is forgetting that in the future her behaviour will be seen by history that she lacked integrity and that she, like the US government, supported genocide by her actions. The protests were against genocide so she should stop talking bs about the protests being anti Jewish. There were Jewish people within the protest. Interesting that any initiaton of violence across the US campus protests has come from pro Israeli groups and police NOT the anti genocide protesters. Guess the great experiment is dying?
