I fricken love that boat and set up. If u are maxxed out on rpm with that prop, u could go up 1 pitch and gain 2-3mph especially with the power trim. Could keep that prop for when u are fishing with a passenger.

how do you shift gear on QT50? is this the same with Honda Cub C70 no clutch but up to 3 gears?

No shifting just pull back the throttle like a go-cart.

@@kentuckyyankee Oh, I see. I just got a 1981 Yamaha QT50 a few days ago (it was given to me). It has square-shaped signal and head lights. I noticed that the US and EU versions have round ones. I thought it was like a Honda Cub C70 (because I also have one) that is semi-automatic.

Thats the floor plan I really liked on the older ones. Deeper all the way to the front, not everyone wants a casting deck. I unfortunately sold my Tracker Classic XL cuz my Dad didnt like fishing that high up, went back to a Deep V. Still run older boats cuz liked them simpler and lighter.

That little bit of wiggle is intentional... This bike isn't designed to have a big screen, therefor it's not got big braces for one, especially one this big, therefor as it's only mounted down low, if it didn't have that bit of wiggle and was mounted solid, enough wind pressure could potentially damage the mountings or worse, snap the screen

Madstad makes great custom fully adjustable for windshields designed to fit your year/make/model. I bought one from them for my Vulcan-S years ago. I traded that bike in. I never had any issues with the windshield.

You would think for that kind of money, all the brackets would have the nuts welded on. It's not abad looking windshield, are you looking over it or through it? I had one that came in my Harley that the top was right in my line of site, drove me crazy and had to get a lower one to see over. Thanks Benny!
@kentuckyyankee16 күн бұрын
Hey John! The windshield is below my sight, really close to where it needs to be, I actually wouldn't mind it just a little taller. Also, this shield does have a lot of room for adjustment, I like that. Time will tell how much I really like it or dislike it. Thanks for checking in.
@beepbop669716 күн бұрын
They (Madstad) have a sizing chart where you measure your position while sitting on the bike, then you order the windshield size based on your personal numbers. Wind buffeting sucks, and if your windshield isn't fully adjustable it is a crapshoot on whether it will work for your body size or not when ordering. So three parts, that Madstad tackles: 1. multiple Windshield sizes (per bike) 2. Adjustable up/down 3. Adjustable front/rear Good products, though they don't have windshields for every year/make/model in existence. If your bike is on their list, I would definitely recommend them over a "universal generic" windshield solution.

hi Yankee ,I'm not getting any beep at neutral, even with a new switch. Any idea where to look for the reason ?

These are 6 volt systems but mine had 1 extra wire coming out the coils with 12 volts so i used that for the headlight with a real big round headlight glued into the small bucket. So it was quite good in the dark.
@kennylowe940421 күн бұрын
Raise the motor 1” above where it was originally. Trim it up. Check your rpm. If you can turn a higher pitch prop even if it just 1” of pitch you should gain. High speed boats rarely have more than two blades in the water at any given time. As long as you don’t lose water pressure, raise it up.

bottom ring isn´t thicker, it´s just flat, while the top ring is conic, that´s why the bottom one doesn´t fit in the top groove.
