If writing is really good then I usually don’t care about the author’s background. You can also appreciate talent and art even if it’s from something you don’t like, I think. Then again I just heard about these folks today so I have no personal involvement or emotional attachment to either side. Idk. I guess it all depends on how much sleep I got haha😂

You’d think that when the man saw the crane as a woman, he would’ve recognized her as the crane he had saved from being sold in the market and freed.

Is it just me or do many japanese folktales favor the obedient and happy-go-lucky ones?
@watagumoYT

That is a recurring theme throughout the folktales. In the stories, those who are obedient, pious, generous, and optimistic tend to be rewarded.

I think Mayo Chiki had a similiar case of having a bonus episode at the end, after the plot points established in earlier episodes hat mostly concluded in second to last episode. But it could have been a weird sheduling issue on the studio side.

Folktales are great! I see no need to change. But if you are really considering it, historical novels and poems that are common knowledge in the east but unknown in the west would be interesting too!
