Good video-thx for posting-so you didn’t need to relocate the spring perches on the rear axle at all and the pinion angle was correct? I picked up a 2005 Colorado rear for my 53 3100 Chevy to swap out the old torque tube.(and t5 for the 3 on the tree)

If you repeat this, please: Film the wheels from the same angles. Mount 2 wheels to show the offset back and front. Film from above and from the front/rear. Add a ruler to show the clearances and mount some different size tires. Have some spacers on hand to show what is needed to fill the arch. Thanks.

Was hoping you were going to have to pull outbtje heater fan. My '82 only has a weak high, or maybe its the low. Trying to dwtermine if its the switch or the blower motor? Any thoughts on where to start? Can you swap out motor/fan without pullimg everything apart? Thanks!
@GarageTimeTV
@GarageTimeTV 23 күн бұрын
To get to the blower motor you’d have to pull the upper and lower console. You can test the fan by taking the switch out of the equation. Unplug your switch and you’ll see 3 wires: red/yellow/blue. You should be able to apply 12v directly to one of the wires to get the fan to go. If it is still weak, check the fan ground. Grounds are majority of the problems in these cars.

Looked at the fan switches on Autoricambi. They appear to have flavored out sides to hold them in place. Can they just be pried out from above, or do you have to lift up the center console to access? Watched your headlight relay video so doing that and door lugs this weekend and the fan switch.

Hey! I'm currently at that part of the process :/. Did you figure out how to replace the lower bracket bolt? I can't get it
@vsurg
@vsurg 17 күн бұрын
Yes. Tedious. I put the nuts and washers on the bracket and cut off whatever extended beyond those. I cut off on side of the hex bolt that holds the bottom of the shock. You then can push that bolt through to the other side-just enough-to start the nut on the thread and then just tighten with a 17, pulling the bolt through slowly and under the bracket bolt. Piss poor engineering thwarted by desperate ingenuity.

The beauty of this cam arrangement is that the valves are transverse rather than inline with the cylinders. That vastly improves the port positioning. A wonderful engine.

typically, upgrading the cam requires intake and exhaust modifications to take advantage of the greater lift and duration of the cam

Good video. Having a separate cam box makes the cam swap process a bit easier in a traverse engine. Or that's the way it looked to me. It is also not too surprising that the cam swap helped since this had a cam that was for emission's. The $200 well spent. I'm loving the X1/9 content.
