Great tips! we went just last week for a holiday in Townsville, could possibly be moving there next year. So we went to check out the vibe, we agree the strand was very pretty, we also have lived in Darwin so I’m very wary of crocodiles too. We loved the fish & chips place on the strand, the chef there really loves what they do! Rock paper scissors I think it was called. Magnetic island we did a day trip and walked so far! And it’s such a beautiful island, our sons spotted there first ever koala in the wild so that was wonderful. We did swim at the beach at the island but I was very wary even though the water is clear blue. Would love to stay there a few nights to do more exploring. We drove up the three close by mountains in the city, and I don’t think I’m fit enough for walking up them just yet. They are so steep but the view is amazing. We also liked the local museum. And the reef HQ would be a great tourism card and good for locals when it’s done. We stayed at the Mercure, and the staff and room up keep was just lovely and our sons loved the rock pool. Also some questions, what is word around town on the best and nicer high schools? And we didn’t get a chance to see many art galleries, what are they like?

Iv been pondering at moving from Melbourne to somewhere warm , I am so over living here now. Airlie beach was always out 1 st choice as we go twice a year but it’s more affordable in Townsville. I’m worried about getting work and the reputation of theft and break ins . (Melb is no better to be honest. )

I have friends from work in Townsville who moved from Melbourne and they loved it! You may be able to find work as it is a bigger regional city! Yes I would just say it’s good to invest in some good quality security screens😅. I hope everything works out for you ☺️

Great video and well explained! In the cost analysis, you have to take in consideration that you have to rush for 2 days to save money. I'm pretty sure that you were pretty exhausted. My wife will kill me! :) .As a Senior. the individuel price is about 10% lower., good to know. Finally, Explorer Pass Go City, not limited in time, might be another solution. Merci beaucoup encore from Montréal!!

Very true- it isn’t a slow paced holiday I don’t think with the 2 day London Pass. However if you were interested in those tourist attractions but wanted to spread it out you could extend your pass days. But that also means more nights in London which is more expensive! Great you seem to have found the right option for you!

We stayed in one of these hotels. The Trafalgar one. It was okay, but the fact that The glass panel that separates the shower and toilet from the bed. Was extremely off putting. I love my husband and I’ve known you for years, but there’s certain things I do not want to do or let him here and vice versa in front of each other. I can’t do you want for cheese and wine was good though.

In addition to the cost savings, would you say that having all your plans on an app was an additional benefit? Do you find navigating the app convenient and useful? The way the whole thing is integrated with an app reminds me of how one needs to navigate Disney these days.

Thanks for watching 😊 when I visited in September 2023 London Pass had just moved over to the Go City app. What I used at the time was the old app, so all I used it for was flashing my pass! I did download the new app for this video to see how it looked, and it looked quite user friendly. But for me, I put my itinerary into Trello and had that app on my phone to keep track 😊

We lost a lot of money buying this stupid london pass! Saves you no time at major sites. We bought a 4 day pass for 2. Due to the rail strikes our plans changed and we only used it at 3 sites over 3 days. The Shard had spots open all day for paying customers but NONE for london pass holders. We also got ripped off on the oyster card. DONT buy an oyster card. Even our postcards never arrived. In fact, don't even go to London. Salisbury, St Albans and Canterbury are all MUCH nicer.

Sorry you had a bad time visiting London! I've purchased and used the London pass a couple of times and had great experiences. I don't think you can blame it for the rail strikes though.. There's attractions that you need to check for pre bookings. I particularly liked the example itinerarys on the website. London always has so many amazing things to do and see, I hope you give it another chance!
Wow! I've seen several videos as I plan my trip to London next month. This is by far the most practical and helped me set up my itinerary

The jacked up the price twice in the past month or two, I think it would be difficult to cover the cost anymore. The National Rail 2 for 1 covers quite a few key attractions and is easy to use. (Must hold National Rail tickets, no one says you have to actually use them). Kensington was the one that gave us difficulty on the National Rail 2 for 1, took a supervisor and standing my ground, everywhere else was perfectly happy with it.

I'm visiting London next week and I've bought a 3-day pass. I'm trying to organise everything perfectly so I can see as much things as possible but I have seen that every pass has a limited number of credits. Do you know how does that work? Is it possible that I do so many things that I end not having enough credits? Thanks for the video btw, it was very useful.
@racheldover2295 ай бұрын
Thanks so much for watching! This page shows you how many credits each pass (eg 1 day, 2 day etc) includes: londonpass.com/en/how-it-works The site says: “1 credit is worth £1 and your credits are redeemed when you enter attractions”. So if you check the attractions page (londonpass.com/en/london-attractions) this shows how much money each attraction costs. If you want to be sure you could add up the cost of your attractions you plan to see to make sure it is under the max credit limit for your 3 day pass 😊 The credits were not an issue for me! In my experience there is not enough time in the day to use them all up, so I would not be too concerned if it were me 😊 enjoy your trip!

I purchased it for my trip to London last year and I barely broke even. I found I would have been better off simply purchasing individual tickets to attractions I wanted to go to on my own time. No doubt the London Pass works well for many travelers, especially families, but as a solo traveler, I found that being limited to using it over 3 consecutive days was just too much pressure. It left me no room for spontaneous activities and I had to schedule my time very carefully in order to get from one attraction to the next just so that I could get my money's worth.

Do any of the beaches there have netting in place during stinger season?
@racheldover2297 ай бұрын
I have contacted them a few weeks ago to ask but haven’t heard back, sorry! I visited in May/June so no stinger nets were needed then. I have asked family who have been during December (during stinger season) and they don’t remember any nets being up. You can wear/hire stinger suits though to help prevent stings. Thanks!
