0:41 I have to completely disagree about what you said at the very beginning. Yes in terms of production a movie will have a larger lump sum to use, however for storytelling? A multi season series is 100% a better format. They have so much more time to fully develop characters, sub-plots, spend time world building, nothing usually ever feels rushed in a multi seasonal format. Movies on the other hand… you only got that 1:30-2:30 hours of runtime compared to the thousands of hours you have within a multi-arching storyline.
@FadeDragontearАй бұрын
I like things that have a point and end. Most anime series simply aren't concerned with actually telling a story.
@mrmarkygamerАй бұрын
@@FadeDragontear I do see that in a lot with the filler episodes and bs they put out just to keep it going, but then you have series like Naruto from the og-Shippuden, death note, neon genesis, dbz, etc which all have multi seasonal arching stories (-death note being a single season) with tons of characters and sub plots. Now I don’t necessarily like filler but when you get through one intense crazy arc there kinda needs to be a reprieve from the action for a little bit before building up to the next story point. But I do see where you are also coming from with how much they bs around sometimes, they can really take their sweet ass time getting back to the plot at times 😅

@@FadeDragontear I’m coming back after thinking about it and realizing that most of those I said are exactly the kind your talking about, I look at them in a different way. I as the consumer decide when I’ve felt like it’s ended. Like with Naruto. To me, everything post shippuden is just filler bs and not worth my time. However the first episode to the end of shippuden is absolutely amazing. Definitely in my top 10 for the story itself. But ones like Nge, death note, devil man crybaby, Steins;Gate, attack on titan, those are all absolute masterpieces and would be such a shame to miss out on experiencing if it’s the kind of thing your into.

@@mrmarkygamer It's totally just a preference and something that helped me refine and filter entries for this list while leaving the option open to speak about series sometime in the future. I'm a fan of most of the series you mentioned; but I do hold these films in a higher regard as I prefer a tighter structure and higher budgets/quality. I can say that every series you mentioned here is dope; the only one you referenced that I haven't seen was Naruto. I daresay a few of these would show up on a similar top 10 list covering series if I were to make one.

@@FadeDragontear it is definitely a commitment to watch all of that content, and I’m not one to skip the filler even if I hate it I need All the context 😅 it took me like 2 years to finish all of it in phases, I’d binge a few seasons then take a break from it for a bit because there’s definitely burn out with everything. But what started out seeming like a goofy ninja anime, touched my heart in the end. It was an absolute rollercoaster especially the final arc of shippuden. The progression was so smooth and enjoyable to me you really get too see the characters grow along with the plot. The plot line itself was great I loved most of the directions they took it in I don’t remember ever feeling disappointed with anything other than the occasional filler episode that sucked. Some of them are fun but most I feel are used in a way to break the tension of the climax of whatever plot point their passing in order to kinda get them reset back into a normal mindset. It’s like a process arc building>climax>filler>repeat seems to be the recipe but it definitely worked and sometimes they were welcomed. When something goes that long things can get quite emotional between the characters and the events taking place at the time. Shit had me in tears more than a few times. Bleach is another one of my favorites I’d group with Naruto, I wouldn’t necessarily group those with the others I mentioned, those are something else entirely.

The Wind Ninja Chronicles (Ninja Scroll), Marcoss Plus, Ghost in the Hell, and Akira would definitely be on my top ten list. Maybe Patlabor would slide in there, but not before Vampire Hunter D and Vampire Hunter D: Bloodlust. Also have to throw in Appleseed in there. This is just off the top of my head, I’ll edit this later when I come up with my last three for the list.

This movie made male characters such hollow shells it almost becomes a parody. Either the male is a wimp, sexual deviant, loud mouth or a killing machine. While the female characters are strong, intelligent and emotional. Am i also the one who thought Tyler had the better character arc? He never trusted anyone and through his journey he even succeeded in taking over an entire kingdom in search for immortality. He also had a decent script unlike miss "i was so offended by your nasty kiss that i will kill you for no reason" main character. Seeing her also always being a jerk to her male partner through the journey got old really quickly. Then there is the ending, wtf were they thinking?? Crappy movie indeed, best part is the metal music. Btw, am i the only one who think it's dull for being a "adult" flick? Like, you just get some wack nudity scenes and profanity. It's no different then other teen movies with similar elements.
