I've been on and off following vivzie for awhile back when she was still making zoophobia comic. The way I observed it, Hazbin Hotel was originally conceptualized as a ZP spinoff; like it was always intended for an animated series but she was developing the cast and the series ideas alongside the webcomic's updates as well as the prototype artwork and basic ideas. For all intents and purposes they seemed to be meant to be in the same universe but that is as far as I can tell, no longer the case. This is my observation, so I might be wrong. And also yes it's been largely confirmed that Angel is a homosexual male, but something I've recently learned that the early idea was for him and Vaggie to be together but changes to the story led them both being separated and both ended up becoming gay. Meanwhile, I think Vaggie might've originally been the protagonist as Charlie is largely absent from the old prototype art and info so I suspect that she was created later on and given some of earlier Vaggie ideas. It's fascinating stuff if you can track it down. Always love seeing how a work changes over time
