I've worked in a almost exact similar setting, but all is just packing customer order after check out. (Not amazon, but same procedure) This working speed will get you in trouble because you're considered slow, and wearing gloves will get you in trouble by senior member, not company.

Ich finde sowas schlecht verpackten gibt's nicht. Jetzt weiß ich warum die Parkete so schei... aus sehen wenn sie ankommen. Das wundert mich jetzt nicht mehr. Beim Briefumschlag werden die Glebestreifen abgezogen mit in dem Umschlag getan, also sowas braucht kein Mench.

@@theline561 I worked for Amazon for several years in my early twenties. You can make sure everything is perfect and still make rate, if you can’t, that’s a skill issue

I work faster than him, and all my packages contain no trash, airbags are filled completely, and all my tapes and labels are flush with the box. You’re right, all they care about is numbers, when did I say they didn’t? Why are you creating arguments just to create them when I never said otherwise? However, I’m thinking about the customer when they open their box. Do they want a box that looks neat, or a box that was just thrown around and not handled with care? Obviously the former. I worked for DPI foods as an order selector on an EPJ, if I went back to Amazon, it’d be like going back to the third grade. I need something more challenging than Amazon. You’re asking me “I don’t exactly see why you think there is some type of skill necessary?” When you said right before that “there’s a rate, you can’t take your time and make sure everything is perfect” Well guess what? If you had skill, you can take your time and make sure everything is perfect while hitting rate. It’s unskilled labor when you don’t put any effort. Any one can put things in a box and slap a label on it. It takes skill to make everything efficient. It’s not a lot of skill, but apparently that’s just too much for you.
