I've been at Amazon for 2 years now and have done multiple positions. This being one of them. The best part about being an Amazonian is that I talk to no one my entire shift lol. I just pop my music in my ears, you're busy the entire time and my night always flies by. You can climb up the ladder in position quite quickly if that's what you're looking for but I don't want that responsibility. I like going to work, popping my headphones in, take my timed breaks, talking to absolutely no one my entire shift, then clocking out and going home. Pay is decent too. I'm overall happy being an Amazonian 😁

As an introvert who works at Amazon as a packer I love doing this lol listen to music and those 10 hours fly by! Nobody bothers you or nothing lol It’s easy asf! The screen literally tells you what to do. Don’t worry about scanning the wrong stuff because it’ll tell you. Speed will come in time if you’re a newbie. My experience at Amazon is pretty chilled. Do my shift and go home. I love my 4 days on and 3 days off! So many perks and benefits! Just make the best of it. I plan on going back to school while still working there full time! A great job for either a stepping stone to another career or advance with the company! Don’t let anybody else experience stop you from working there if you want too! Every facility isn’t the same

I work for a Amazon fulfillment center and I know how to Pack … Rebin … Induct … Waterspider … Problem Solve … but something about packing that I like to do because you are just there doing your thing away from people I love the isolation aspect of it lmao 😂 … people quit all the time because they find the job(s) boring … it’s easy money lol
@FwamTom3 жыл бұрын
I don’t Induct or Waterspider but I always felt that binning was much more relaxing but packing was easier physically. I miss the isolation compared to my current job…

I finally got to cross train for pack after months of asking. I feel like I’m so slow because I take forever to tape the boxes cause I’m worried they won’t be straight. How do you do it so fast?

This would be a good video to show new hires how to pack. Except this guy may need a little retrain. Some spoos are in wrong places which may cause a kickout at the slam line delaying the box to get to shipdock quicker. Other than that the amount of dunnage is fine. Some boxes may or may not need it depending if box is full and depending on size of box. Good thing he doesn't use polybags either, they suck. Good video. 👍 Going to use this as an example for new hires.
@Rico-tt3jk3 жыл бұрын
If you pack that slow at my Amazon you're going to the docks as an extra helper unloading trucks. My floor averages 230 phr LGA9 NJ. You need that gun in your hand to scan as you grab, but your box making is pretty good though.

What intrigues me the most is wanting to see how they pack the larger items like furniture...
@Jaker788 Жыл бұрын
Furniture would be at a non sortable facility. It does get "packed", it gets a scheduled box truck delivery when it's something the size of furniture. This would be a standard Amazon AR sortable facility, handling medium to small items (18 inches long or less).

I would jump out the window if I had to do that all day. It's a job, but standing all day, and the repetitiveness of that has got to take its toll, physically and mentally, It's no wonder the average Amazon employee leaves after about eight months.
