A portrayal that's no obnoxious, and unbookish. Nice. But the age gap will never not be weird.

Thank you for the complilations. This video do more justice than the actual movie. The movie lacks so much of Henry and Jane's scenes. I was looking up youtube for more of them. ❤❤❤ My feeling said that JJ Field's acting here is like watching Male Lead on Korean Drama 😂😂😂

What an actor JJ Fields is because he is an actor playing a professor playing an actor who is playing a Darcy type. He did so well and his facial expressions were everything.

No hate to Anya Taylor-Joy, who is one of my favorite actresses, but this adaptation of Emma is so much better. I found that the 2020 Anderson-esque adaptation was too stiff to translate the humor, here in this adaptation we can see Emma clearly being so childish and silly like the coddled little girl she is inside, and it's loads of fun to watch.

Everything about the story of Emma and Knightley screams chaos- this whole love hexagon is on a whole other level with Emma, Knightley, Harriet, Mr. Martin, Mr. Churchill, and Jane

Why'd they even *make* the 2020 version? This one is perfect and the actors are *way* more attractive!
@manuellarodrigues438611 ай бұрын
2020 version is much better. This one is way to modern is does not feel like something from its time period. Plus it was the only version that that took in consideration that Emma is a comedy.
@jwyatt63110 ай бұрын
@@manuellarodrigues4386 That is an interesting perspective. To me, the 2020 version is a parody with the production team trying to be just too clever. I can't see where the 2009 version could be considered too modern. The book has comedic elements but is much more, for example, in Jane Austen's acute observations of human behaviour. To me, the 2009 adaptation is a fine all-round production in that it is faithful to the substance of the book but uses the medium of film to retell and in parts enhance the story. It DOES contain comedic moments, but not of the laughing uncontrollably variety.

I have never seen this version of Emma. I’ve only ever seen the 1996 version. But I barely remember anything about it. I just finished reading the book for the second time. Emma and Knightley have such a funny relationship

I fully recommend it! It's my favorite of all the Jane Austen adaptations that I've seen.
@rubygracemoseley814410 ай бұрын
@@KS-bk9nt Oh really? Well cool. I love the 1995 Pride and Prejudice and Sense and Sensibility so much that I doubt any adaptation will beat them but this version of Emma does seem the most accurate to the book. Emma and Knightley have the same goofy yet adorable chemistry that they do in the book
