When you reward yourself, you give an indication to your mind that it did a good job.. that it has achieved something.. you get a push to keep moving forward

wow. rarely seen so poor quality thinking. maybe philosophe or tea forum discussions would be more suitable to your approach to tackling problems ? you simply use human level language words to explain a organ made of cells evolved over millions of years. do you really believe that a brain construct "not falling" as a reward? like wtf :D if you start analyinz system with such a low quality standard , its an infinite loop.... its a shame that there is no system that distributed human knowledge about brains based on competitively sorted out merit.

The stress comes from understanding the history of the Fed created on Christmas eve 1913 on Jekyl Island, and knowing that bubbles and busts are part of the fabric of their existence. Watch the latest from the Mises Institute for a better understanding of where personal financial stress comes from. Best of luck in these inflationary times.

Your work has been the only things that have ever helped me: Eat Right Now program and now this Unwinding Anxiety book that I am going to try. Thank you

Bunch of weirdos .......You're worried about catching COVID? How about inflation or an open border or the possibility of WW3 under the current administration.... Homelessness and fentanyl deaths? Some anxieties are legit..... COVID anxiety is ridiculous...

Did not realize years of working from and squinting at the screen caused me to do the same in the rest of my life thus creating more anxiety and frustration. Now that I’ve been practicing this for a week my anxiety and facial tightness is going away. Wow. Thank you! How simple 😂

Another thing with bad habits is that, for instance for smoking, awareness can play a part in bringing you to your senses as in what you smell and taste is bad! Is not rewarding! But the reality is would you even be able to feel that intensely to quit it considering that after years of smoking you have become DESENSITISED to the smell and taste.

but how do i update broccoli to a higher reward than cake.
@VladislarKoyaldik2 ай бұрын
By lowering cakes reward level first...like telling urself cake is not that good while keepung eating it and cuutting the amout of cake in ur diet ..by studying cake ..what it contains ..how the ingredients in cake can affect ur body..do u wanna get more sugar and fats and look bad do u wanna hurt ur teeth from carries.do u wanna feel that guilt of having too much cake ...start by lowering cake reward value and chand ur health habits...its gonna take time but its not a big of a problem its going to be a smooth change to the good with gods will

Awareness... to the taste? That's sensory; pastry, chips, pizza, soda--salt, sugar, fat, unami engineered to light-up our reward system vs. cooked, plain broccoli? No contest. So how does one update the reward value when comparing a superNormal stimulus (engineered processed food) vs. a simple natural/normal stimulus such as broccoli? That would seem to require deep understanding of our reward system, the value one personally places on taste (reward) vs long-term health, a willingness to live with less hyperPleasure and accept much more subdued sensory rewards... and more. This would require a significant amount of cognitive skill and emotion regulation to rein in the primordial survival instincts. One could call that willpower.
