RIP Nujabes. Turning a flamenco based song into a god damn legend.

Tout est parfait dans cette scène, la musique, l’ambiance, le visuel tout merci nujabes pour ce son

they really made a better love story in one episode than most anime can in multiple seasons

Totally agree. In 23 minutes they made something amazing many animes have tried.

Glad Jason Sanders is out there, he makes great vaporwave mixes and found this sound from the digital religion mix. Go listen to that mix by him, there’s other odd stuff on there

Best standalone episode of the show. It encapsulates everything samurai champloo does so well while managing to tell a compelling love story with mere minutes of dialogue between the characters. You don’t need an excess of time or backstory to build compelling characters, sometimes all it takes is some nujabes.

I have so much respect for Jin for not just doing this, but turning her in the river alone and being Stoic about it, and carrying on with life. My generation and countrymen of Americans today are utterly embarrassing believing happiness is something that can be not only achieved, but can be consistent throughout life, and always getting your way. In reality, life is much more like this episode. He risked his life saving her and in the end, the only thing he got was satisfaction of knowing she didn't have to be an involuntary prostitute anymore, didn't even get to make love to her. In the end, his stoic face takes so much strength. For My Millennials and gen Z folks, stoicism is not men can't feel emotion, its about men controlling emotion and being in control. Whatever feminists tell you, cry in front of them and ALL respect and attraction goes out the window forever. Its a trap. So remain or learn stoicism and the art of silence. They respect it, they're attracted to it. Shinō knows Jin loves her. Jin gave her the most important gift one can give, her freedom. She'll never forget Jin regardless what happens in her life. Such a damn good episode, especially Japanese dub.

This is probably one of my favorite scenes in all of entertainment. Nearly brings me to tears with how beautiful the atmosphere of it is, partially attributed to nujabes producing and the amazing story telling this show has throughout. I’ve rewatched hundreds of times and it remains one of my favorite anime scenes of all time

This episode is what made the show go from really good to great imo. Has me teary eyed every time she reaches out to jin only to come up short. Jin knows he can’t go with her because he made a promise to fuu, but he will surely come back for her

Always breaks my heart to see Shino reach out to Jin, and Jin's reaction to that. It's almost like he knew and understood how he felt about Shino but didn't know or understand how she felt about him.
