It's 2025 and I'm thinking about buying this. Initially I was going to go for the 5d mk2 or mk3, but then I saw a video of the 1d mk2 and I started liking these more, and there's plenty of mk3s available on mpb in great condition compared to mk2s. So here I am. Love the way this thing looks and for a 17yo video this is pretty amazing, except the potato 240p resolution.

Why is panasonic looking so soft? As much as I hate to say it, sony looks much better to me.

It would be controlled by the Sharpening levels and is tuned to taste by any user - that goes for both cameras. In this case if it looks soft, you would have turned up the sharpening in FCPX or whatever you use.

I would go for the 16-35 but it is TOTALLY personal choice so there is no right answer.

If you had the Lumix 28-200 on that S9 you would have been ready for those peacocks:) Also, you could have used the hybrid zoom feature on the S9 on those telephone lines. "The S9 has a feature that no other camera has for video: Hybrid zoom that enables a zoom lens, that is not a power zoom, to extend the range by 1.5X seamlessly when shooting 4K with no loss in resolution."

Nikon S9 has a Cold Shoe actually. That is one of the reason's the KZbin Creators were angry about. Video Record limitations also but with Firmware 1.2 that is no longer the case. Cheers!

@@randallbrander8157 that would be a serious and total dealbreaker. I will have to make a video on that. How can you leave the entire flash system out of a camera is something I don't quite understand. But it does everything else much better than I expected.
