Way too hot in summer and no compassion for people outside and no rain for 8 months. Like living with a roommate who doesn’t shower. No thank you!

yo!! as a kid who was born and raised in las vegas, i always wondered why _anyone_ would start a family here. you brought up a good point with the schooling system, though charter schools are inevitably harder to get into because they invoke in the raffle system. charter schools are good, but not great either. i personally went to a charter school and we only received 20 minutes to eat lunch and a ten minute recess afterward, where we were not permitted to eat. (of course, every school will be different, this was just my experience.) along with the schooling system system, there is light pollution. when in the heart of las vegas, you would be lucky to see a couple stars. this is bizarre and no kid should have to struggle to see the stars at night. not to mention, light pollution affects many other things such as your circadian rhythm and contributes to increase of co2 in the atmosphere. it also, yes, is hot. i wouldnt even consider the winters cold anymore. the summers can get up to 110°, and just last summer we hit 117°. in these weathers, anything can happen and accidents can occur. winters usually only hit the 40-50s, but a couple years ago it was a little bit colder. there’s little chance your kid will see or get to interact with snow here in the valley. gambling, as you stated, is also a very large issue as many good restaurants and movie theaters are connected to casinos. literal airports have gambling machines in them, so its difficult to keep your child innocent regarding this such thing. in casinos also, they reak of cigarettes and alcohol, so this in itself could be an issue if your child is sensitive or likewise. you also bring up some good pros, though! the tons of parks scattered around is a great way to escape city life. the diversity of sports also has me hooked! we have everything from hockey to even irish dance. yes, there are many cons, but that is a pro. there are many diverse housing options, but that also comes with the immense ~3 million people that live here. it is a metropolitan area, meaning tight knit communities may be difficult. (theyre not impossible) but, with this many people, as you stated, comes multitudes of diversity of people. in conclusion, las vegas is a very finicky place. i personally wouldnt start a family here, but everyone is different. i thank you for making this video and highlighting most important factors of this place to live.

Nice video, informative. You mentioned Vegas is like a "bowl", with the last few years I had seen news about flash flooding. Is there a particular area in Vegas communities that flooding is worst than other areas? Do you have flood zones in Vegas mapped out?

The outline for the city of las vegas is wrong. Most of the area you said was the city of las vegas is actually unincorporated clark county. Makes a big difference when discussing local serivices like fire, police, etc..

All nine of the communities you have listed are in the farthest west possible exterior reaches of Las Vegas, some very far to the northwest, some very far to the southwest, and all basically very new developments. They are essentially very homogenous bedroom communities 20, 30, or more minutes away from central Las Vegas. When we're talking about the very best neighborhoods to choose from in all Las Vegas, and there is no mention of historical neighborhoods, no mention of central neighborhoods, no mention of guard gated communities such as Rancho Circle, Rancho Belair, Rancho Nevada Estates, Spanish Oaks - all exceptional communities in central Las Vegas with wonderful amenities, close to the strip, the arts district, a superior restaurant and shopping scene, and a much more lively mixed socio-economic energy, it really seems rather odd to only choose cookie-cutter neighborhoods essentially west of Durango...

I am not agree with you. And for people like you commented things like that's suggesting people to buy those areas; that's way is way more traffic there. Why do you not say that in Summerlin is where kidnapping young girls are the most? And in Diamond area is way way more traffic! And in Henderson all the democrats live there.
@livinglifeinlasvegasnevada
@livinglifeinlasvegasnevada 4 ай бұрын
Some bold statements you’ve made here. Not all of the democrats live in Henderson, there is a healthy divide of red and blue there. Very absolute statement you’ve made. Saying most young girls are kidnapped in Summerlin is a false statement because there are indeed other areas outside of Summerlin, and even the country, with higher human trafficking cases. I can’t say I know about any abductions happening in Summerlin. The only statement I can partially agree with I s traffic on blue diamond. Yes it is a high traffic area depending on the time of day during commute.

I left the Bay Area for all the right reasons .. high cost of living, high taxes, overly woke policies ... and I came here on a whim... well, a year and half later I'm hating it.. a) it's small, you bump into the same people all the time .. b) it's a stucco jungle, ugly, no architectural appeal, cookie cutter homes, strip malls, etc.. it's full of stucco strip malls, dental offices and vape shops at every one.. c) meat heads in Dodge Chargers with flat brim hats everywhere... d) if they're not a sports fan, forget about it... that's the religion here. e) the dating scene sucks.. any decent looking woman is taken, the majority of the single ones are overly plastic, fake eye lashes, eyebrows, and body parts everywhere... Only good thing I can say is it's dirt cheap and at least where I am, is close to the Red Rock mountains .. (Btw, I'm in a prime location in Summerlin in a 1M condo, so it's not where I picked to live).
