Cheers, thanks for post, back in the early 70s there was no Shazham, and DJs kept failing to announce who they were at the end of the track. Finally, in 1975, Nicky Horne played Bodishattva and did reveal who they were at the end of the track. I rushed put and bought Countdown to Ecstasy. So their tribute band the other week, very good

They still are missing something without Pete as Styx is missing something without Dennis. I still enjoy listening today 's lineup but something is missing with each band.

Muchas gracias. Gran trabajo

Laudir De Oliveira na percussão, Brasil
@eddie_lukaisch49417 күн бұрын
Estranho não ver Laudir De Oliveira mas percussões e line up, ate hoje não consigo entender porque ele foi demitido após 9 anos de banda, Chris pinnick, tocava absurdamente bem, ótimo guitarrista!

The band was at their musical zenith during this time period. Drugs were still, for the most part, having positive effects on the stage. Terry's death 9 months prior to this concert shocked them to the point they knew they had to prove to the world that they were still the most talented group in the business, even without him. Unfortunately the sugar high of this tour would fade, and 1979 would dawn with the endless beats of Disco and the power chords of Punk.

I can't stand James Pankow. He's such an entitled, arrogant prick. After they discussed some of their "newer" current members (Keith Howland on guitar, Jason Scheff on bass, and Bill Champlin on keyboards), at the 12:07 mark Pankow says he thinks the current lineup is "the best lineup we've had." That's outrageous and preposterous! No, the lineup with Terry Kath (one of the greatest guitarists EVER), Peter Cetera (one of the greatest singers EVER) and Danny Seraphine (who played drums with a very creative and distinctive style) was your best lineup. The band lineup in 2009 was just a shell of the former great CLASSIC lineup! Pankow sucks!!!

I remember Chicago opening up with this tune at Jones Beach in the early 80s. Kenny Cetera joined the band that year too. Chris Pinnick, and Bill Champlin added to the energy.

It's incredible to believe that the band fired Laudir de Oliveira in 1981 even though Laudir was a partner and important member of the band.

@ I want to also know. Everything I’ve seen seems to point to what you’re saying but also to the fact that his percussion contribution didn’t fit into that 80s style. I’m sad about that. I loved his playing. He added so much. Been listening a lot to Call on Me lately. I honestly wasn’t really into Champlin’s singing and felt like he was a mismatch for Chicago. However, I’m speaking as someone who was not a fan of most of the post Terry Kath 1980s ballads . I know many loved Champlin. I also read that Laudir died while performing and that is incredible that a witness said his face was on the skin of the drum. RIP
