If I could give this 1,000 or more likes I would… Best quality version I’ve heard yet. You’ve definitely reached legendary status Rick0725 when it comes to Chicago!!!

It's incredible to believe that the band fired Laudir de Oliveira in 1981 even though Laudir was a partner and important member of the band.

Was there an explanation?

Did Laudir de Oliveira leave in order for the band to pay for Bill Chaplin?

@ I want to also know. Everything I’ve seen seems to point to what you’re saying but also to the fact that his percussion contribution didn’t fit into that 80s style. I’m sad about that. I loved his playing. He added so much. Been listening a lot to Call on Me lately. I honestly wasn’t really into Champlin’s singing and felt like he was a mismatch for Chicago. However, I’m speaking as someone who was not a fan of most of the post Terry Kath 1980s ballads . I know many loved Champlin. I also read that Laudir died while performing and that is incredible that a witness said his face was on the skin of the drum. RIP
