I grew up with my Grandma (born in New Mexico/san Ildefonso pueblo) making us natillas and it’s so delicious, light, and comforting. Best childhood memories and I carry on her traditions. Thanks for sharing so others can make this too. Ps: When you boil milk I add a canela stick cook with milk it’s delicious and of course I add vanilla and at the end before serving make it snow all over top with ground cinnamon. 😋 🥹🫶🏽

I could barely hear you. Popular thing today is having your children help you make the dish or doing the taste tests with you - glad to see your child assist you. Teach them young so they enjoy cooking as they get older and they keep traditions alive for generations to come. Thanks...

Same ingredients as sopapillas? I followed your directions and my tortillas came out good but they didn't puff like yours. Thanks. Be well...

Made these and they’re amazing. Crispy and a bit thick and doughy, perfect with honey or smothered in beans cheese and red Chile

You can, it just might have some crumbs to strain out.

Here in South Carolina I cant find this type of sopapilla. Here they are like light tortilla chips and they cover them in cinnamon and sugar and chocolate and garnish with whipped cream. So frustrating! I like to have a big fluffy sopa and eat half with my meal and the other half with honey. Gonna have to make my own.... or move back to NM!

Thank you very much for the video, I want to mention that at times the music is louder than the audio so I missed out on what temperature to heat the oil to and how long to let the dough sit before frying, also what kind of oil to use. But besides those points i really like the video so thanks again

wtf is this corn chips
@dlop37805 жыл бұрын
lol That''s funny. These do look like corn chips... lol It's just the way they cut them is all. These are nothing like corn chips other than their shape. Some people will make them round with a hole in the middle some will make them square and some will make them rectangle.. I personally never see a sopapilla in the shape of a triangle.
@e.g.12183 жыл бұрын
@@dlop3780 My grandma was from New Mexico and we would make these with her. They looked exactly like this video. We would cut one large roll out into triangles, and put slits in them. To me it is weird to see the squares.
