I started playing GB since 2022/12(850hr), and it is still my favorite game. The most important thing is that there is a group of friends who love tactics to simulate together.

Is there a canpaign or any solo singleplayer content?

This game is barley updated which is the problem.

it's a game which excels in the tactical elements but fails miserably in the basics of a modern shooter....the movement is so antique and it feels so unnatural to play it. it hasn't released yet but it's already SO old

This game is not dead. I play it a lot. It's already in a niche genre, don't expect servers to packed out like call of duty. Ground branch is in a good state where enough players play it to where i can still have decent teammates who are random. A game does not need to have 10,000 players daily to be considered "alive".

It's the best game out there. The gun fights are just gritty, nerve racking and brilliant. the weapon handling is also second to none.

Community is super small, but it's not dead. The problem is that now Ground Branch is turning into 10GB mod download just to join the server with requirements of having a mic and such.

Alot of the reasons these games die is because the devs essentially made a playground where people could dress up and larp. Where alot of other titles do that. They don't innovate, add something new like a quickly tossed together campaign. People will play this for a bit, then not touch it for months or years.

I blame bloat. There's countless tac-larp games out there that play just like this one.

Good game, just rarely updated and its just a stagnant map with ai to kill no real special gameplay. It's like loading a war map in gmod spawning in ai and shooting it with modded "tactical" guns

Welcome to stagnant development hell. Where the devs couldn't care less about hiring more devs to complete their backlog of work. But they'll spend time and money modeling and animating butch women which delays the release of prone. AI in a game? Nah we have one programmer and he has to go off and learn how AI works, doesn't even truly learn it but pays for some 3rd party plugin and then still hasn't finished AI 3 years later. Like pvp? Well get use to them not caring at all about it despite it being mentioned on the steam page. If only ready or not added back pvp. Looking at both side by side where RoN was in a worse state years ago and Ground Branch is still in pretty much the same state with a fee noticeable gameplay changes and some more polished art. Well now RoN is miles and miles ahead of GB.

WOW, it's like they are trying to build a market with scarce weapon skins, so you need to open mandelbricks, also you need a key to open them and you get a few for free. I've never heard of such a genius mechanic, it's like no one thought of that idea 10 years a:GO.

Sound design is whack though, weapon customization is basically non-existent. Easy refund, maybe if it improves in the future I'll pick it back up, but the price for this bowl of dogwater in alpha stage is laughable.

Something that the last of us did is whenever a zombie wasn't completely zombified, i.e. they still had their eyes and ears, they could see and hear you but when they lost that ability as the fungus spreads and cleaves its way through the skin, covering the eyes/ears, they lose their ability to see and hear effectively--they also develop new skills to hear such as echo location, but you can also tell where they are because of it (so typically you won't be getting ambushed). the zombie enemy in this game are wayyyyyyyy too perceptive, way too agile, I would like to see that toned down significantly.
