Wow! That playthrough had a lot more fills than what I remembered. Did you rush the tempo a little bit for some reason? Besides that, great drumming as always Leo 🙇🏻♂️

Thanks! Do you mean if I sped up the backing track or if the playing is rushed? The track is the original one, untouched, the drumming is live, despite being several takes it’s still a real performance with its imperfections. The original isn’t recorded after a click track so it’s no always super easy to predict how 27 years old Leo played it…! :)

Thanks a lot! :) I feel like my playing always sounds easier than what it is. Could be the albums’ productions compared to highly processed and drum replaced sound of our competitors! But yeah, I’m playing somehow as I did on the original, some fills are different though!

I never realised how intense this one is. Watching you play it is like watching Estepario covering what I remember the song to be, lol. I always thought the Road Salt drumming fits you so much better than the more pattern oriented albums that came after them.

Just out of curiosity (no pun intended) - was it Daniels idea to have that "over the top" vibe on the drums (and I mean this in the most positive way) or was it yours? And that part from 02:30 til the end always fills my heart with joy! Such an amazing build-up and finale.

99% of the artistic decisions are taken by Daniel, so yes that was his choice. I remember not liking it back then, but in retrospect I think it was great! 😊

Really amazing drumming on one of my favorite Pain of Salvation songs. I also have never seen toms muffled in that way but it makes so much sense, especially for how they sound on this song :) so helpful!

Incroyable ! J'ai découvert Pain of Salvation lors de votre concert au Hellfest il y a quelques jours, complètement par hasard, et je suis addict depuis ! Les polyrythmies, les mélodies accrocheuses, le chant... Je suis encore sous le choc de ne pas être tombé sur ce groupe avant, quand je vois l'ancienneté du groupe !!! J'écoute en boucle vos derniers albums, et je découvre cette chaine ou je te vois jouer les morceaux, c'est une mine d'or ! Étant moi aussi batteur, j'ai été impressionné pendant le show du Hellfest par ton jeu hyper propre malgré des rythmiques complexes, le combo basse/batterie était carré de ouf ! Il y a trop de batteurs "tape à l'oeil" qui en font des caisses alors qu'ils jouent du 4/4. J'ai accroché tout de suite en te voyant jouer ! Bravo au groupe, et j'espère le meilleur pour la suite ! Au plaisir !
