It's been nearly 20 years since I first heard Remedy Lane. Truth be told, this is one of the few albums that I have carried with me from adolescence and into adulthood. Thank you for the music.

Unfortunally, when POS let go Kristoffer, they also let go a lot of great and melodic bass lines. They never really got that aspect back to the sound of the band.
@Mrdardas992 жыл бұрын
That is exactly what I was going to comment, first time I heard that funky bass line - great mix Leo!
@lauscho2 жыл бұрын
@@SebaProgre I think that's a bit unfair, because Leo brought a lot of groove and funk into the band. Not to hate on Langell, but even DG would describe his drumming style as "rigid". Leo's definitely more of an improviser, someone who could add a lot of groove and funk into a piece of music, even if the bass isn't as great as when Kristoffer played. I'd like to think D2 is just as talented, as he's playing a lot of those same bass lines. Though to be frank, if I lived in Sweden, I'd make my availability as a full-time bassist with Kristoffer as an influence known, and interact with the band in such a way to make myself useful as a bassist. I know I'll never actually BE a PoS bassist, but the dream is there, and I know I could do the job justice if I were there.
@lauscho2 жыл бұрын
But that's just personal opinion. Having actually had some good time to chat with Leo and D2 and Gustaf, I think the band's current rhythm section is insanely respectable, and deserves to be looked at in the same way as Kristoffer, Fredrik, and J. Langell. They're fantastic talents and great people, and the brief period I spent chatting with them in 2017 at their Toronto show proved that to me. They really care about their craft and keeping in the spirit of the band. I'd never accuse them of being too "inferior" to play in Pain of Salvation. They ARE PoS at this point.

HELL YEAH! this has always been one of my favorites. I'm jealous you got to use the studio tracks. You and Johan write the coolest drum parts man. I've been trying to decipher the elements of this song for years lol. Now Kristoffer needs to upload a bass playthrough.

The snare sound is not very nice. All you can hear is the crack of the rimshot. On a track like this there is space for some ringing and a fuller sound.
