I've had one of these for a number of years, but have not used it it quite sometime. as my Malibu x13 has been serving me well, but you know... this has way more weight capacity. and I like the grab handles as well since I freedive. I think I'm going out side to swap the boats out, as this will be fun to use.

*Extremely satisfied↝↝>**share4.photo/sKayak?Pり** with my new Sun Dolphin Aruba 10.I 😊 It met all my expectations in a recreational kayak. I love it. Thank you!*

*My friened and↝↝>**share4.photo/sKayak?Sす** I were looking for an inexpensive way to get into kayaking so we decided on the Sun Dolphins to get us on the water. The kayaks handle the puget sound quite well and track rather well. Some complained about the kayaks going in circles and other strange issues but that is user error. For small light kayaks, light strokes of the paddles will get you where you need to go.*

*This was my first kayak▫▫▫>**share4.photo/sKayak?ѡ** I've taken it out many times on various lakes around the Midwest. It's comfortable and spacious. I even took my three year old nephew out with me once and we both fit fine (I'm 5'4", 130 lbs). My dogs have jumped in with me too but I wouldn't recommend adding a 50 lbs dog. The storage container is big enough to pack a selfie stick, lunch, sunscreen and a Frisbee.*

The Necky Manitou 14 is an awesome kayak . I have been paddling one since last summer . It is a true intermediate Sea Kayak that an entry level kayak-er can grow into and not want or need to upgrade to a larger one for some time . Having said that , it is no slouch in rough seas , easily handling 3- 5 foot waves . Yet still able to store enough gear for weekending overnight, etc . and even longer trips . The kayak at 14feet 4 inches is still short enough and turns well enough for river exploration . Sometimes storage length is an issue . It performs even better when properly ballasted with the gear needed for expedition paddling . It is too bad that they don't make them anymore . If you find one , buy it .

Do you have any info about the hull speed of the Looksha? I am looking at picking up a used one. I am currently using a Perception America 11 footer, and I average about a 16 minute mile (3.8mph). I am wanting to do longer trips, and would like more speed. Not sure if the speed gains are going to be worth the money I plan to spend. It is really just about speed, not storage, etc. I rarely do any overnight stuff. Thanks!

it makes a lot more sense to have the hatch lids to be connected to the boat so you cant lose them and its more convenient.

Randy Morgart's gripping article "Cold and Alone on an Icy River" is one of the finest first-person accounts of cold water immersion ever written. It's archived on the National Center for Cold Water Safety web site here: www.coldwatersafety.org/PDFs/Cold%20and%20Alone%20on%20An%20Icy%20River.pdf. "Anatomy of a Bad Decision", my analysis of the flawed reasoning that led to his near-death experience, is here: www.coldwatersafety.org/PDFs/Anatomy%20of%20A%20Bad%20Decision%20SK%20Complete.pdf Also, a short synopsis of his physical and mental responses to immersion in near-freezing water is here: www.coldwatersafety.org/PDFs/CloserLook.pdf Moulton Avery

Dude, that's no sledge. That's just a dead blow hammer. A proper sledge is known as a 'quarter hammer', meaning quarter hundredweight. A hundredweight is 112 pounds, so a quarter hammer is a 28 pound sledge.
@PaddleDogC58 жыл бұрын
to me a sledge hammer has a long handle period. Short handles are mallets, lump hammer and engineers hammer. Although when googling it short handles do appear to be included.

Buy a Rockpool Taran or Pace 17 /18. Epic make decent paddles and decent surf Skis but they recent foray into Performance Sea Kayaks demonstrates the companies total lack of experience in Performance Sea Kayaking. To credit Greg Barton and Oscar Chalupsky with the design of the plumb bow is incorrect. the origin lies in British wildwater racing designs. Its great that a company like Epic want to enter the Performance sea Kayak market however Epic need a serious re think re Sea Kayak design. Please bring something original to the party boys. You can do much better than this. Love your paddles.

Brian Tracy Fair enough, but I am a blacksmith, and I regularly use 5 lbs hammers in one hand for 3 hours almost non stop, day after day, so when it comes to hammers, i dont consiter anything less than 6-8 lbs a sledge hammer. To be a sledge hammer, it must be about 6 lbs at very least, but about 8 to 30 lbs average (ive seen some 50lbs sledge hammers, though rare), and made for use with two hands, so I would hardly call a little sand mallet like that a sledge hammer XD
@cageordie8 жыл бұрын
I am not shaking hands with you! Where I come from a sledge hammer is also known as a quarter hammer because the head is 1/4 hundredweight. A hundredweight is 112 lbs, so a quarter hammer is a 28 pound sledge. Often wielded by a man lying in six inches of water five miles out under the North Sea extracting a six inch span from workings only a couple of feet deep. You are hard, but I'd rather do your job than theirs ;-)
