So, yeah, the link to the right (at this date) "Touring Kayak Roll" by aorandy shows a more typical 'touring kayak' with a deck in back that's around table height. The paddler in that video manages it by just muscling through with momentum and hauling himself out torso-and-all. But it would be interesting to see a more graceful and accomplished roller showing how to accommodate to those limitations.

Lovely rolls, but this is only nominally a 'touring kayak'. It's what - 20" beam, with about 1" of freeboard behind the cockpit? More boats are getting more "greenlandy" but the majority of 'sea kayaks' are 23 or 24" wide, with about 4" of freeboard, and a high, mean cockpit in behind.
