A word of caution regarding Reading Settings at 3:33. If you do not have a Blog Page because you deleted it to clean up your random pages like I did, Wordpress gets confused and does not know which home page to use. It defaults to the template home page and not the pretty one you spent all day designing! No matter what you do. added another blog page and problem solved after hours of searching.

Bro shows a css trick at the end of the video to hide the button on devices and then debugs his bad CSS code with the browser web developer tools. That was very clever. I could not make it work even though I copied the CSS exactly. One day perhaps I can be successful with this.

A bit confusing. In November 2024, WP 6.6.2 under Appearance/Editor/Styles/edit/Typography/Manage fonts there is the ability to Add or Upload Fonts, so I wonder if I still need to install WordPress Create Block Theme editor plugin? Because now an option under Appearance to Manage Theme fonts is not longer there within the WordPress Create Block Theme editor plugin. I'm no expert but it looks like they have removed the font management functionality and now it just does the other Child Theme stuff. So I have installed it and made a child theme but wonder if I needed to. In other worlds, have I overcomplicated life?

Thanks for your great lessons. I added google fonts, and can see them in the list, I change the Text, Links, Headings as you have shown but then the font does not up update. WhatFont tells me I have Serif rather than the google font I have loaded. I restart Firefox its the same, I restart computer and same. I change back the to the theme font which was Inter and it works fine. Back to my loaded font and generic Serif again.

I am a full stack PHP developer and never wanted to use WP, except when I create sites from scratch or convert them into WP. I got to say, I like the Spectra block/theme. This will help me create projects in record time. I like your videos, I will subscribe. I am glad that things has gotten better in WP. I will still create sites especially PHP projects from scratch because it keeps my brain logically stable. Anyway, thanks.
