Could you add a transmission cooler to a RWD 4runner? Do it also have the thermostat to depress ?

Wait, how did you find a fluid exchange tube pump that screws onto the Toyota WS fluid bottles? Isn't the Toyota WF Fluid bottles not a standard quart mouth? Can you link which one to buy that screws on please?

It feels good when you're going 5km/h.😂😂However, it is clear that it will skid under sudden braking at normal speeds.

I don't know about his gas mileage stats. My 2009 4 cylinder standard was far better on gas than my 2016 six cylinder automatic by at least 5 to 10 more mpg.

Have an oil leak. Toom tondealer and they said they couldnt find it. It leaks after we drive it and then park it and it sit for a bit. I saw oil down by where the oil fill tube connects to the engine. Does that tighten is that one piece? Also could be a bad seal on oil plug maybe? Any suggestions or any one have say issue? Thanks

I had a 2016 and now have a 2023 Tacoma. When I get in the hills of Mississippi south of Natchez towing an open 5x14” with one or two 4-wheelers, it’s 4k RPMs in tow mode. I would never tow even 1k lbs less than capacity, 5400 lbs. sounds like the engine is going to explode. Toyota dropped the ball on this one but it’ll tow better than the new 4 turbos. So much for “going green”.

Great review, I'm in market for a new vehicle wanted something where I could not worry about my vehicle in any weather and something that has ground clearance. I like the willys I'm curious thought about the mud tires. Would these be good in snow here in ny? I've had wild peaks on old cherokee Laredo and that thing was like a tank.

Failed to mention the de-flood cranking method to prime the oil filter before starting. Simply place foot on the brake and floor the thottle. Then press the start button until the oil light goes off. Release the throttle and the engine will start with full oil pressure and not run with dry bearings each time you do the oil and filter change.

Don’t keep peppermint candy because that’s what drew them to my car. Found a little mouse in my glove box and I had a bad of mints in the glove box & it was only in there about a week. They were chewing on the bottom of the bag

Excellent overview! Subaru really delivered with the Wilderness trim on the Outback - they nailed so many details that I'd otherwise have to drop $$$ on in the aftermarket like proper tires, smaller wheels, recovery points. Yet (as of 2024) they still give you great winter comforts like a heated steering wheel and rear heated seats. Seems like the perfect mountain vehicle.
@Monkeyseemonkey793 ай бұрын
I also love that you can spec a Wilderness without a moonroof! It's near impossible to buy a nice trim level without having to take a moonroof with it. As a tall person who holds onto their vehicle for 10 years, I try to avoid moonroofs due to the reduced head clearance and the maintenance issues.

As of 2024 they fixed two of his gripes: the Wilderness now comes standard with a heated steering wheel + premium HK audio.

On my 2024 Outback touring, 1st oil change was done at 900mi. (I used the 4x free Subaru oil change offered) and let them do it. Now my OB is at 4500mi. I'm planning to have them do the 2nd oil change before 5K mi. In future, I'm planning to change the oil for every 5K mi. not 6K mi. as recommended by Subaru. 5K is easier to remember and it's good for engine's life (oil is cheap 🙂).
