I have the 570 max and will be keeping it for a long time. Love this machine. I rapped the pipe and used a heat reflective tape on the side plastic covers that took care of the heat problem.

I have an older Polaris Sportsman 800, been a great machine. But it's getting long in the tooth and doesn't have EPS, which is an option I really desire now. I was thinking of trading it in on a New machine but wasn't sure. I do like 2 up machines, I have CF Moto 600 Touring, they just ride so smooth with a longer wheelbase. Thought about getting another CForce Touring, but these new Outlanders got me thinking. A Outlander 700 Max is an intriguing idea. Can't wait for them to hit the dealer floors soon and check em out.

Hopefully they start showing up soon. They definitely seem like a pretty interesting model and big departure from Can-am's older models. I'm glad they kept the max chassis and XMR models.

Have a 2016 Outlander Max Xt 570. Been perfect but I have never been on a trail like thought i was going to. Only goes up and down our dirt roads and plows our gravel drive etc. I do like it to haul our dump cart and wood splitter and stuff like that. Only 1400 miles and 200 hours. Fluids changed perfectly! Planning on selling and using my tractor for the little plowing etc. Great Machine

Have a 2016 Outlander Max XT EPS and it's been perfect except once a year I have to adjust the shifter . Not a big deal but. Thought we were going to do trails but never did. A few weeks ago I picked up my 2023 Can am Outlander XT Max 1000 6x6. First real ride yesterday. I spent the previous weeks just putting her through daily heat cycles to break her in. Took her out on her maiden voyage yesterday. Absolutely LOVE IT! Super Smooth with an amazing suspension. The wife loved the seat and the seat back with grab handles. This first trail run was 59 miles.

I am a cattle rancher, and so are most people I know. Ranches/farms here average around 900 acres, that's what I have. Not Texas sized, but I know people with a lot bigger here too. Roughly 15 years ago I started seeing less and less Honda. Most around have Yamaha. Followed by Polaris Ranger (I don't know anyone with a Polaris ATV). Can Am is likely next. Honda is less. Within ~10 miles I don't know of anyone with a newer one, other than those old ones as mentioned (usually spares with newer machines). I know Polaris is considered bad some places, but people get along with the Rangers here. One neighbor has one with 20,000 miles. Other neighbor has 3 Can Am ATVs, used hard, almost 10,000 miles on one with minimal parts/repairs. My next one was going to be a Kodiak. But I'm going to look at these Outlanders. I don't ride recreationally, don't know many that do (kinda tiring watching "reviews" where people just ride in circles or drive through puddles and then don't show actually using the thing). But several things look thought out fairly well. And I've been looking for something with a speed setting if it works like I think it does.

I still like the new 2023 Arctic Cat Alterra 600 better after riding both. Arctic Cat has a new frame, new in house built 35hp engine and has their engine leaned back before canam did. But canam has more technology and options.

I figure Can Am has something already in the works for the next Gen Big Bores. The launching of the 500/700 Outlanders are likely a part of their marketing strategy, you may see a completely redesigned 850, and 1000 for 2024, or 2025. With the recent subtle upgrades to the 850, and 1000 ( LED headlights, and iEB ), those upgrades, are likely technologies that were developed for the ALL NEW models, like what we see with 500/700 models this year. I'm looking into getting an Outlander, but I have fully decided on anything yet, looking for more videos to show up on youtube of the 500/700 models
@edwardcote1331 Жыл бұрын
i wouldn't be surprised if they go with a similar plan for a detuned engine for the 850/1000 for their big bores like the 500/700.that would be the same engine across the board for atv and side by side.it would make the most sense cost wise for them to manufacture.i believe the 700 commander and maverick side by sides both use the same 650 single as the new outlander.they've stopped making evinrude engines already so i would expect across the board changes and streamlining.

It's kind of a head scratcher. The buyers who have had Japanese machines in the past are generally brand loyalists. Seems like an uphill battle instead of just making great trail machines like they have been doing for years.

@@TrailPass i don't know,i did a fair bit of research before purchase,and for what i was looking for as a new atv owner/rider,it was the best value for $$ on the market besides cf moto.i believe the target buyer is budget buyers and new riders and when it comes to utility,there's really only the pro hd or the honda .there's a huge price gap between the new can ams and the japanese brands.

I agree with the 450. Super solid and great value for an entry level machine. The ride is outstanding and plenty of power for trails.
@marksjunction69 Жыл бұрын
I didn’t like the reveal at first, but it is warming up to me. I think it is a smart marketing strategy on Can am’s part to launch these entry level ATV’s to directly compete with the foreign manufacturers. These ATV’s are meant for light trail and farm use, but definitely not winter riding, which for most people is perfect. My son just bought the new Outlander Max XMR 1000 and I have to say it is an impressive machine, but we ride on deep snow trails all winter. I bought the Defender XMR which is equally capable. I have owned ATV’s since 2002 starting with the Suzuki Vinson 500 and then a second 2009 Can Am Outlander Max Limited, both great machines, but lacked the power in snow or deeper mud situations. I do like snow riding and you need the power, but mudding was never my interest. I don’t think I would ever buy a single cylinder engine again, so I will stick with the 850 and up. Also, Can Am fit and finish is the best in the industry in my opinion, everything else is a cheap knock off. I would like to see Suzuki develop an big bore 2 up limited, which would likely spark my interest. I owned my Suzuki for 20 years with very little issues…..they need to work on ground clearance, suspension, ergonomics, accessories, sealed storage, rack weight and towing. Unfortunately, they have chosen along with Honda to not really develop their lines for a long time. I don’t get the reliability factor with Honda, because I have owned 5 Honda products and none of them have been reliable……garbage in my opinion.
@TrailPass Жыл бұрын
I agree with you. Canam machines have been very reliable in my opinion and the quality is great. I think the value is definitely there, especially with the new machines but the vtwin really sets them apart. I would've loved to have seen a bigger Suzuki update!

I think the weight may hurt the can ams. I believe they are about 100 lbs heavier than the Yamaha and Suzuki?
@TrailPass Жыл бұрын
Yeah that's a big head scratcher along with higher Seat Height to me. They are heavier especially in the 500 class, but the competition is all on a midsize chassis compared to the full size Outty.

I just purchased 3, 2023, 570's. I believe they're gonna be severely missed. The only positive I'm feeling in this 2nd, Gen 2023, is the LED headlights. The big issue I've already encountered is Can Am offering what I'm calling my 1st, Gen 2023 model and changing mid year to what I'm calling the (2nd, Gen 2023 model). That was a huge brain fart, WTF Can Am? It makes ordering equipment a freaking pain in the ass.

Good luck trying to compete with Honda for practical work horse ATV applications. I know a lot of actual cattle ranchers and big family farmers that are still running Honda Ranchers and Formans from the mid to late 90’s with thousands of miles in them and very little maintenance. They run them every day for extended hours doing chores in all sorts of extreme climates. Cattle Ranchers and farmers are extremely practical people who don’t have time for nonsense so they are sticking to what works. Maybe some small measure of people with small homesteads might get into one or make the change, but I don’t see it. Maybe that’s due to that practical thing inside of me? People get mad at honda for not getting into the twin cylinder big bore game but in my opinion they know who exactly their market is, they know their market loyalty, and they are very happy to stay in that lane because it’s still a money maker at this time.

If they really wanted to go after the Japanese brand market, they should've kept the machines they already had and just made them with higher quality. Their 570 and 650 vtwins were fine, they just needed to improve their overall reputation for reliability in the minds of the Japanese brand consumers. They would also benefit by admitting that single lever brakes and the visco-lock suck, and they are not going to impress Japanese brand owners who know that real manual lockers and two brake systems are better.

I'm thinking of buying the 450 XU+, they are an okey deal where I live, the prices is a lot higher in general in Europe for all brands thanks to shipping and because they get registration. I will do some plowing and work on my yard like moving smaller loads of wood, gravel or dirt around , do you think it is an good choice? I will add in that the 570 XU+ is 1600Euros more, sure would been nice but its a bit steep already in price for the 450 and a plow kit. The wait until the new 500/700 reach us will be very long is my guess, but they sure looks a bit more "work friendly" by design. Been looking on the Polaris sportsman 570 -22/23 to but seen very mixed reviews and feelings of them so far. Love the vids, keep it up!
