When I was a kid, SDC was free to enter... you bought tickets for rides...when Fire in the Hole went in... it was TWO punches on the ticket card. Also spent a lot of time with Mr. Shad... the blacksmith's shop was never the same without him. It makes me sad now to see what it and Branson have become... total destruction for the almighty dollar. I am glad I got to enjoy it when it was still beautiful.

It looked like you all had a blast. That wooden coaster would have been me and my youngest daughters favorite. We both love any kind of coaster. We use to have a Silver $ City here in Pigeon Forge which is right out of Knoxville TN. My aunt use to get free tickets every year so we would go. It clised down when i was about 15 then Dollywood is in its place. They still have places to sit down if you can get one and there is shady places. But it is really crowded and to hot in the summer especially July and August. Im so glad you filmed this it brought back good memories. You will have to ride that big tire thing but you do get soaked. Thank you so much. I always hit the like button.

It was a lot of fun! The last wooden roller coaster we went on was Ghost Rider in Knott's Berry Farm and it was a crazy rough ride!! @lovinlifesjourney4291 Жыл бұрын
Honestly, we are not casino people so I didn't really even look into Wild Horse, plus we were going to experience the history of the area, not just hang out at a resort. Our daughter is an adult and she was happy to go with us. There was no dragging involved. We all had a very nice time but I'm sure Wild Horse is a ton of fun as well.

I enjoyed the video very much. I used to ride atvs around that area. Honda Pioneer 500's in stock form are punishing on rocky, bumpy trails. Their stock suspensions only have about 5"of travel. They are probably good for rentals because they are cheap and very reliable. I wish the pleasant young woman narrating the video and her significant other could travel the route again in my machine. Added to my Pioneer 500 are 26' Maxxis Bighorn 2.0 radial tires, Walker Evans shocks and 1.5" wheel spacers to vastly improve the ride and stability. I also have arthritis in my neck and back and making these improvements made for a somewhat painless ride. I also installed a 4500 lbs. KFI Winch, a Honda soft top and half windshield, a glove box in the dash, power steering, a Trigger Shield to muffle the sound and a luggage box on the rack for convenience and comfort. It's small size and low gearing allow it to go on any Trail or go up about any hill, and the hill holding braking provides a safe return down the hill. The machine fits in the back of my pickup and allows me to tow my travel trailer at the same time. It will never be a race car, even with improvements. Think of it as a mini jeep. It is reliable, doesn't have a belt to break, and is cheap to purchase and fuel lasts a long time. Including the initial purchase price, I have a little under 12K in mine. It's about 5K less than a Can Am Trail 800 or a Polaris 570 RZR. Not saying I wouldn't want a Can Am Maverick Trail or a Yamaha Wolverine.
@lovinlifesjourney4291 Жыл бұрын
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I agree that the ride would be much more enjoyable in a machine with the improvements you have on yours. We do plan to do the ride again but on our Honda ATVs. We have always enjoyed riding those. We have thought about getting a nice side by side but just can't get ourselves to spend the money. Thanks so much for watching and sharing about your machine.

Question for you. I went on this tour quite a few years ago (maybe 12?) and I remember something about it that still intrigues me. We went into this one room where the guide informed us about how there used to be mothballs used in there, like in the 1930s or so. The mothballs were long gone (at least I think they were), but you could still smell them even after such a long time! Did they still have that on your tour? And one more: Part of our tour included a walk through what used to be an old brothel. It was a nearby building. This was especially funny because I was with a church group when I was there! Did they still have that as part of the tour?
@lovinlifesjourney4291 Жыл бұрын
I don't recall smelling the moth balls but we did tour the brothel. I bet that was a little uncomfortable touring it with a church group. 😀
