Seems taking an oath is not a notarial act since there is no notary certificate for this one, right?

Can a notary just take an oath, so for a public official to be sworn into office? The notarial act is just to administer the oath.

Although MD doesn't allow us to charge any substantial amount for the apostille service itself, certainly we are allowed to charge for convenience for our customers, correct? The courthouse charges $5, but what's the limit for notaries to charge for the service i.e. leg work involved? Especially if a document needs to be FedEx'd to another state.

My ex-wife's death certificate is there now for apostille. It is required in the Philippines to adopt a child. Hopefully it will be returned soon.

Regarding the person that was asking about, 'shadowing' was not asking the question in reference to being licensed or not. I think they were talking about 'shadowing' from a training / job - understanding perspective, until they got a firm understanding of how to do a title sigining? Am I right? I think they wanted to know IF it's OK to shadow until they learned how to perform such duties really well. Correct me if I am wrong.

How long is the TIP good for ? Ie 2 years, 4 years. I assume we need to take classes again and do test.

Is there a way to request for a unauthorized RON vendor to be authorized ? Most of the authorized vendors are for signing agents only or do not provide clients. BlueNotary seems like a nice option for general notary work. It also provides clients. 🤔

At the where the Apostille is conducted they have to have a notary do the paperwork first then take it in to the office. Trying to understand as I’m a notary for MD but haven’t done these services yet
