I chopped and froze in Mrs. Gerry's buckets, but if you don't use it in a timely fashion and try and 'warehouse' it, it turns into soup. then you risk adding too much water! Yeah, it's tricky.

Different is ok. I chunk items up for my indoor worm bins. But mostly dont for my outdoor compost pile .

2nd, by 3 min, hate it when that happens. Good question, great answer AJ ! Think it boils down to, how quickly you want the worms to have access to any food. The bin in my grow room only gets food from, the grow room (plus some worm chow). Even thinned out seedlings and trimmings can last quite a while, if frozen 1st, would be gone in days. I am about to cut up and feed my worms some wheat grass I grew for them and some bean and sunflower sprouts I grew for them, will do a little experiment, will freeze some and leave some as is, put them in similar bins and see which disappears quicker. How full do you let your worm bins get before harvesting? Half way? At what point do you think its "too full"?

The biggest issue is the fruit flies. Bananas create them bad! Believe me, it's a pain in the keister, when you're playing on computer and there's fruit flies about.

I finally found a friend that had a couple of kitty litter tubs. We need to create a small casting turner that can be placed in the tub to circulate the castings and moisture through the tub.

Grow bag is a good idea for an outdoor worm bin. 😁🪱
